Another award for one of our prospects, Spence seems to have an incredibly bright future despite being a late pick

Hello Y'all,

It's been a long overdue post but below are the official regular season standings. Congratulations to @donut for winning the regular season!

unknown-1.png

Below are the lottery odds that were used for the lottery draft that took place on June 26th.

1. Philadelphia Flyers - 18.5 %
2. San Jose Sharks - 13.5%
3. Toronto Maple Leafs - 11.5%
4. Vegas Golden Knights - 9.5%
5. Montreal Canadiens - 8.5%
6. Minnesota Wild - 7.5%
7. Washington Capitals - 6.5%
8. Qualifying Round Team A - 6%
9. Qualifying Round Team B - 5%
10. Qualifying Round Team C - 3.5%
11. Qualifying Round Team D - 3%
12. Qualifying Round Team E - 2.5%
13. Qualifying Round Team F - 2.0%
14. Qualifying Round Team G - 1.5%
15. Qualifying Round Team H - 1.0%

Below are the actual results.

1. Qualifying Round Team
2. Vegas Golden Knights (+2)
3. Toronto Maple Leafs (0)
4. Philadelphia Flyers (-3)
5. San Jose Sharks (-3)
6. Montreal Canadiens (-1)
7. Minnesota Wild (-1)
8. Washington Capitals (-1)
9-15. Qualifying Round Teams

Those that are unaware, the NHL will have a 2nd lottery draft after the Qualifying playoff round to determine the rest of the spots (If the qualifying round is played, the seven teams that lost will be entered into the second lottery will be sorted out into spots nine through 15 in the draft order in reverse of points percentage from the 2019-2020 regular season.). The top 4 teams from each conference are exempt from the qualifying playoffs and therefore can't participate in the 2nd draft lottery.

Below are the matchups if the qualifying playoffs take place.

Qualifying Playoffs
Top 4 Eastern Seeds
1. Tampa Bay Lightning
4. Pittsburgh Penguins
8. Detroit Red Wings
9. New Jersey Devils

Eastern Conference Qualifying Round

12. Florida Panthers vs 24. New York Rangers
13. Boston Bruins vs 23. Buffalo Sabres
18. Ottawa Senators vs 21. Columbus Blue Jackets
19. Carolina Hurricanes vs 20. New York Islanders

Top 4 Western Teams
2. Arizona Coyotes
3. Winnipeg Jets
5. Dallas Stars
6. St Louis Blues

7. LA Kings vs 22. Vancouver Canucks
10. Calgary Flames vs 17. Colorado Avalanche
11. Edmonton Oilers vs. 16. Nashville Predators
14. Anaheim Ducks vs. 15. Chicago Blackhawks

There is still tons of uncertainty about the return of hockey, but I see many GMs are eager to get back which is great to see for the future of the league.

Trades and expiring UFA/RFA extensions are still on hold for the time being until we get confirmation that playoffs are actually happening.

If I did miss anything, please let me or Weyl know and we'll try our best to address it.

Hi everyone!

With the qualifying playoffs quickly approaching, we are going to need the qualifying and playoff teams to submit their playoff rosters! Please submit your playoff rosters by July 27th (11:59pm).

Playoff rules as per our boy toews (the same rules will apply in qualifying rounds):
  • The playoffs are a series of head-to-head matches, just like in real life. The team with the most pool points in each matchup will move on to the next round. Pool points do not overlap from round to round, so your team must have more points than your opponent in every round in order to win the Stanley Cup.

  • Every playoff team to submit a 23 man roster, plus any reserves that they may wish to sub in later. These players must all be on NHL playoff teams in order for you to accumulate points. While you do not have to send down players in order to make room for anyone currently stashed on your farm team, you will still be restricted to dressing 23 players at a time, with the same positional restrictions that existed during the regular season. For example, if you have 6 playoff forwards and 10 playoff defensemen, you may only dress 6 forwards and 8 defensemen. Players that are stashed on IR and are healthy must be activated for the playoffs.
    • Any playoff team that does not submit an active roster will have one submitted for them by the league. However, the league will only consider players currently on the team's current list of 23 players, ignoring anyone in the minors.

  • Substitutions to your active roster may only be made in between rounds, with injuries being the only exception to this rule. This is to prevent teams from sitting their players that wrap up their series in 4 games in favour of players that play 7 games. Any substitutions must be made from your pool of reserves, therefore anyone who is not listed in your active roster or reserves is ineligible for the playoffs.

  • Goalies can only accumulate 40 points combined per playoff round.

  • Player's points in the round-robin irl will count in the qualifying rounds.
Below are the qualifying playoffs match-ups.

Qualifying Playoffs

Top 4 Eastern Seeds (will be playing in a round robin, teams will be reordered based on their points from the qualifying playoffs)

1. Tampa Bay Lightning
4. Pittsburgh Penguins
8. Detroit Red Wings
9. New Jersey Devils

Eastern Conference Qualifying Round

12. Florida Panthers vs 24. New York Rangers
13. Boston Bruins vs 23. Buffalo Sabres
18. Ottawa Senators vs 21. Columbus Blue Jackets
19. Carolina Hurricanes vs 20. New York Islanders

Top 4 Western Teams (will be playing in a round robin, teams will be reordered based on their points from the qualifying playoffs)

2. Arizona Coyotes
3. Winnipeg Jets
5. Dallas Stars
6. St Louis Blues

7. LA Kings vs 22. Vancouver Canucks
10. Calgary Flames vs 17. Colorado Avalanche
11. Edmonton Oilers vs. 16. Nashville Predators
14. Anaheim Ducks vs. 15. Chicago Blackhawks

If anyone has any questions let me or Weyl know.

Good luck and happy hockey!

Hey guys,

Just to add onto Maticus' playoff rules in regards to the teams with a bye.

The teams with a bye will be added into pickup and will be participating in a round robin similar to IRL.

Once both the round robin and play in rounds have concluded all teams with a bye will be reordered based on highest points.
