I think my next three are Samorukov, Persson (whom I think might surprise pretty soon) and Berglund. But there's a few others I like quite a bit, too. Damn, I like our prospect pool now -- definitely piling up on some good D prospects. Some pretty tough choices ahead.

Berglund again for me. I'm curious if there's been any rumours about the Oilers signing him? And when we hold his rights until?

We own his rights until June 1st, 2020.

He is signed in the SHL for two more season, but all SHL contracts have an NHL out clause. What I’m not sure of is if that extends to the AHL.

If he has a good year he can come over and compete for a spot on the Oilers next summer. However, I believe the plan is for him to develop for two more years in Sweden then sign with Oilers.

Decided to go a bit for an off-the-board pick with Persson. I really love his growth so far.

Went with Samurokov. Berglund and him are close but I think Samurokov will have more offensive success at higher levels because of his shot.

I'm jumping on the Aapeli Räsänen wagon here. He's a little farther out but attending NCAA at a great program. Can see him transition to the AHL after and becoming a useful two-way bottom 6 guy. Seems so smart

Berglund is a more developed player by far, but I like Aapeli's head and think he could develop into a Letestu role.

Rasanen at this point is a little underrated. He's a solid, good sized 2-way C with a little bit of edge to his game as well. He's solid defensively and that's probably why people underrate his overall game because his offense doesn't jump out at you like some other prospects do.

I agree that his likely trajectory is a defensively solid 3C which is certainly a solid asset. I think he has a better than average chance of reaching that as well.
