We haven't heard the last of Kesselring, Marino and Niemelainen in terms of skaters, Hawkey and Wells between the pipes. I really hope Niemelainen wakes up this season because he would've been a huge addition to our prospect cabinet with the size and skating combination.

I think this is the year we start to cash in some of these chips though. I wouldn't be surprised if Caleb Jones gets moved at some point this season.

I think Niemelainen is a name that could be a nice piece if his development starts again from the stall its been in since he got drafted. That combo of size and skating ability makes me think of Phillipe Myers. Markus is only 20 and has time to turn it around. Even if he take 4 more years to develops and breaks in at 24 he'll be a good one. 6'6 dmen with great skating ability and high iq are very hard to find.

Another dman in the same mold is Kesselring. We will see..

Kesselring for me. Niemelainen has disappointed the hell out of me. I liked what I saw out of him in his draft year and first Penticton tournament and he has done nothing of note since.

Man those previous year's lists are pathetic.

Jujhar the only real sleeper

Caggiula once a 2nd ranked prospect, although that was a pretty accurate assessment in hindsight. :(

It's too bad Mantha is having medical issues, as he'd otherwise be on my top 20 list.

Other players who didn't make the list, but I'm still high on include Wells and Starrett (but goalies are so difficult to call). I also think Gambardella still has a good shot at carving out some type of NHL career as a bottom 6er.

IMO we finally have some legit prospect depth.

Marody, Benson, Jones, Maksimov, and Samurakov are all trending up. Most college guys fall.

Not bad. I have Maksimov ahead of Samorukov and Marody though, and McLoed higher. Skinner I don’t think should fall 6 rankings, it’s his first pro year and is doing well in the ECHL. I’m also pretty high on Hawkey, so I have him higher.

I always find it difficult to rank goaltenders with skaters. I understand why central scouting ranks them separately.
