With the 163rd pick the Dallas Star are proud to select, from the Edmonton Oil Kings, Trey Fix-Wolansky!

It'll be a real shame if this kid goes undrafted this year. He was one of the bright spots on a weak Edmonton forward group. He is small height wise but very stocky and filled out. He works hard every shift and has an underrated shot. 54 points as a WHL rookie on a weak team that only saw 3 players hit 40 points this season. Thought about waiting until the 7th round for him but I didn't want to risk other Edmonton area posters who know about him scooping him up before me :)

3rd - Miro Heiskanen - RD - HIFK - Liiga
30th - Jake Oettinger - G - Boston University - NCAA
39th - Joshua Norris - C - USNTDP - USHL
70th - Ostap Safin - LW - HC Sparta Praha - Czech Extraliga
101st - Mikey Anderson - LD - Waterloo Black Hawks - USHL
132nd - Zach Solow - C - Dubuque Fighting Saints - USHL
163rd - Trey Fix-Wolanksy - RW - Edmonton Oil Kings - WHL

2 (43) - Stelio Mattheos - RC - 6'1" 194 lbs. - Brandon, WHL

6 (167) - Adam Ahman - G - 6'0" 163 lbs. - HV71, SHL
7 (198)
7 (209)

Happy to get him this late, along with Skinner this really solidifies future prospects for the Jets goaltending. Was hoping for Emil Oksanen at this spot but am happy with Ahman as well. WHL, SHL heavy draft so far, not planned this way haha.

Mobile, could someone please pm the next gm, thanks!

Agreed, belair's had a nice draft. I think the Canes probably move a couple of their seconds for help right now but that's really solid.

I like Mozes's draft for Detroit a lot as well. Lots of high upside guys.

Obviously like my own too. :P

Now that I've made that pick I can rave about Virtanen a bit. He could be one of the biggest steals of the draft IMO. I feel like he's a bit of an afterthought right now since he only played 7 regular season games due to injury, but he came back at the end of the year and had a solid playoffs and a very good u18 tournament. I don't think he has the skillset to be a top line player, but he could could fill a lot of spots in the bottom 9 forward spots. Good speed, slick hands in tight and very good defensively as well. I'm really hoping the Oil pick him in the 5th or 6th round.

... the Oil were hoping he'd be available in the 6th round...
