With almost the same lineup like last season, the Nashville Predators compiled a season record of 51 wins - by far the best mark since GM Tony Kay took over in 2005.

Key additions like Andy McDonald, Jeff Schultz or Ryan Jones contributed on both ends of the ice throughout the season and fit into a team that was clicking right from the start. After a minor tweak by the coach which saw Corey Perry promoted to the top line along with Henrik Sedin and Rick Nash, the team didn't look back and lost only 7 of their last 31 games.

Team MVP probably is goaltender Tim Thomas who finished as the top goaltender in the league in save percentage and goals against average.

The Predators now look to build on the success of their regular season in the Playoffs. First opponent will be division rivals St. Louis Blues - a team that the Predators were able to beat 4 times during the regular season...

Congratulations Tony - you really deserve the division title... I know the last couple of seasons have been big disappointments as your team performed way below the level of talent on the team. You've been patient and made a lot of good deals along the way - there is no doubt that the Predators are in very good hands. Good luck in the playoffs.
