In a press conference today GM Tony Kay announced that the team has relieved long-term coach Bruce Boudreau of his duties. Boudreau has been the coach of the team for more than a decade, leading the team into the playoffs multiple times. This season the team has been struggling at times, often getting outshot by the opposition, relying heavily on goaltender Devan Dubnyk to win games.
The GM had this to say: "The Nashville Predators organization wants to thank Bruce Boudreau for his work. He has been a big part of this team and was always dedicated to our success. Given the team's performances this season, management felt a change was needed and after exploring a few options and talking to the entire staff, the decision was made to relieve coach Boudreau of his duties. This is not on Bruce, the entire team is responsible for their performance this season, but a change had to be made."

Jeremy Colliton will take over as the new head coach for the Predators. "We feel that the philosophy and approach to hockey that Jeremy represents is a great fit with our team and the way we want to play hockey. He is a young and very motivated coach and we are looking forward to a long and successful cooperation with him."

The Predators will face the New Jersey Devils at the Sommet Center in their next game which will be Colliton's first behind the Predators bench.
