Coming off a year which saw the Panthers go from bottom of the standings to the President's Trophy, the team is hoping to keep momentum moving forward and not take a step backward this year. Following a tough first round exit at the hands of the eventual Stanley Cup Champion Lightning, Florida made a few tweaks to their roster to better prepare them for the season ahead and hopefully make them more successful in the postseason.

"Last year was still a great year. The playoff loss certainly stings, but we also need to look at the bigger picture. After a quick re-tool, we feel like we have one of the best collections of young talent in the league and we're coming off a President's Trophy. Rome wasn't built in a day. Now our younger players know what they need to do to win in the playoffs and they will be even more motivated," said General Manager Brock Otten.

After saying goodbye to a few faces and bringing in other new ones, Florida's line-up looks as follows heading into the year:

Nikita Kucherov - Nick Bonino - Jake Guentzel
Blake Coleman - Paul Stastny - Tom Wilson
Marcus Johansson - Casey Cizikas - Jesper Bratt
Robby Fabbri - Mark Jankowski - Paul Byron
Jake Evans

Ryan Ellis - Nikita Zaitsev
Cale Makar - Niklas Hjalmarsson
Radim Simek - Riley Stillman
Travis Dermott

Pavel Francouz
Matt Murray

This is certainly a lineup that can contend for the Eastern Conference yet again.
