it's that time of year again, folks. due to the graduation of several prospects, the capitals have some defensive depth and some strong options available for trade.

PH and PA ratings with 85 skating makes schultz a very reliable offensive defenseman in the sim. he posted great numbers last year with a very similar rating. the sim calculations for defensemen overall seem to not weigh skating and offensive attributes very heavily, so consideration must be given that this player will have a stronger measurable impact on the game than his overall would suggest. washington is looking for a hockey trade for this player. either a defensive defenseman on a reasonable contract around the same age or a forward equivalent.

hagg is a hitting machine, obviously, and could provide some immediate toughness for a team that wants to invest in a young defensive defenseman. 86 DF, 99 CK, 86 ST. there has been a fairly consistent ask for hagg and we felt it would make sense to open him up to discussion if any team felt compelled to step forward with an offer. hagg is unlikely to be moved for a bargain considering how useful he projects to be in a penalty killing and physical capacity, but the capitals are interested in getting better across the board and wouldn't be opposed to deals involving veterans and draft picks or simply another hockey trade.
