Some moves have been made but still looking to play around with fits. See block below:

The blueliners:

- Jeff Petry
- Justin Faulk
- Dougie Hamilton
- Mike Matheson
- Jake McCabe

One of these players will be dealt at some point this year, but unclear which one and for the moment will start the season with all of them (plus Letang and Chabot) in the lineup. Looking for comparable forwards or futures.

The role players:

- Jesper Fast: squeezed out with the acquisition of Brad Richardson; available for a pick.
- Korbinian Holzer: with those d-men sticking around, now a luxury with his 90 DF and 700k salary; available for a pick
- Brendan Smith: can play D and LW, 650k salary; available for a 7th rounder
- Ben Street: can play multiple positions, 75 DF, 750k salary; available for a 7th rounder

He ain't going anywhere, but if you are keen, guys like Bouchard, Jokiharju, Niku and Timmins aren't entirely out of reach.

An updated Canucks trade block:

- Justin Faulk: Well rated in the HFNHL (76 OV), signed long-term in St. Louis, can be a fixture as a 2/3 on a team for a while.

- Joel Persson: Still too many d-men, and Persson would be fighting with Jokiharju, Marino and others for ice next year.

- John Quenneville, Mikey Eyssimont, Alexandre Alain and Lukas Vejdemo: Prospects of varying degree of promise.
