Can’t believe Barzal and Duchene went higher than some of the remaining guys like Monahan, Zibanejad and Hertl, incredibly strange voting.

wait, Hertl plays center?

Finally played a full season at C last season and proved that’s where he belongs. He was out best forward without question and had another dominating playoff performance.

That last is what pushes him over Zib and Monahan for me. Love Zibanejad thought and wouldn’t be upset if he won this.

Horvat. I will take him over any player left on the list. Horvat is superior than Monahan. Horvat is extremely underrated around here.

accumulated 60 points, playing with trash wingers, and taking most of the faceoffs at any player while playing the toughest minutes on the team.

Monahan gets carried by Gaudreau and struggles to tread water without him.

Line Stats - Natural Stat Trick

After Gaudreau failed miserably in the playoffs, Flames fans came out in droves to say that Monahan was terrible and that Gaudreau would’ve posted a better playoff performance if he were playing with a decent center.

I guarantee you that excuse would not have been made if Gaudreau been playing with Tomas Hertl, who is just flat out better than Monahan. Horvat, Zibanejad, and Getzlaf should also all go before Monahan.

Sadly people will look at Monahan's regular season point totals without context and vote him ahead of more deserving players.

Some combo of Monahan/Horvat/Schenn/Krejci for the next few imo. Not really that concerned about the order among them.

Monahan has become pretty underrated. He doesn't really get carried by Gaudreau anywhere near as much as people make it seem like.

I think he does get "carried" by Gaudreau in some respects, and it inflates his production a bit. But at the same time...he also "carries" Gaudreau in plenty of aspects as well. He does so many of the things that Gaudreau needs from his center to really thrive. It's a very symbiotic duo imo.

Except Monahan is past performances has been pretty decent overall. The Flames as an overall group were complete and utter trash in the 2019 playoffs.

Monahan still produce fine without Gaudreau due to his ability to finish but he struggles to drive play. I don't think he should be voted in yet though.

Even as a flames fan i think monahan is gonna be a bit high, but not gonna split hairs over 3-4 spots

Horvat. I will take him over any player left on the list. Horvat is superior than Monahan. Horvat is extremely underrated around here.

accumulated 60 points, playing with trash wingers, and taking most of the faceoffs at any player while playing the toughest minutes on the team.
Zibanejad did everything in the second paragraph with 74 points.

I think it's a tossup between Hertl and Horvat.

Took Hertl and his 57 ES points.
