Probably Duchene for me here. Getting tougher, though.

When did Mikko Koivu die? I mean i know he´s no Dylan Strome but still?

He's had just over 70 points in the last two seasons combined, while every player on this list has had that in one of the past two seasons alone. Several current options have as well. Sure, he's great defensively, but I cannot imagine him getting voted in over 6 of the guys currently on the list.

There's also now the Other option.

Duchene or Getzlaf.

I feel as though Getzlaf should be easily ahead (and ahead of a few others) but last season really throws things off. Was it just a bad year, or is he declined? I'll say Duchene based on that.

Let's compare to some of the other guys getting votes here.

Duchene - Same number of points and their overall impacts are not comparable.

Getzlaf - f*** me jumping, is it 2014?

Monahan - Not even dignifying that with a response.

The only humane choice here is Tomas Hertl.

Can’t dignify with a response? Solid argument. Thanks for the input.

lol Hertl over Monahan? Yeah no.

Monahan has a higher peak so far and his lowest point total since his rookie year is higher than every season Hertl has played in the league besides the last one (in which, again, Monahan easily outscored him)

Monahan is heavily carried by his teammates.

Yup.
Not like any other name on this list plays with good players, so you're correct.

I'm not even a big Monahan guy, but he's better than a number of guys already on this list.

He's also two years older, and Monahan has easily out produced him every season they've been in the league together. Honestly Mika's only really played at the level of a first line centre for a season, whereas Monahan's production has been 1st line (lower end, but still) since he was 19.

Zibanejad has been producing at a first line rate for years now. Per minute, over the last three years, he's outscored Hertl, Kopitar, O' Rielly, and Couturier.

Nobody in our fanbase was surprised that he put up 74 points or really thought of it as a "breakout." That's just what happens when you don't have Alain Vigneault playing you on the third line because he hates his life.
