It's pretty muddy at this point. There's 5 or more players all in the same tier, in my opinion. I considered a number of them.

Barzal, Kopitar, Miller, Suzuki, Thomas, Zegras are all reasonable picks coming up.

I picked Kopitar. I do like a long track record.

As for Barzal - it's possible he plays a lot of wing this year. Not sure how to really value him in a poll like this.

I'm curious how Tavares lands in his poll. He very quietly put up a 36-goal, PPG season, and showed up pretty well in the playoffs, all while skating second-line minutes.

He's basically a Malkin case where everyone knows he would be a 1C on some teams, but it's easy for him to be forgotten behind weaker guys who stumbled into 1C roles.

Jt miller last 2 seasons has had 99 and 80 points. The disrespect is real.

And the 99 point year 2nd best on the team had 68 (pettersen!)
