This list is a million times better than the NHL.com list, that's for sure.

I don't really have any strong complaints with this list. Maybe there are a few guys getting votes based on what they used to be instead of what they are now, specifically Quick and Lundqvist, but those are just nitpicking.

Just so it’s here for reference, this is the list from nhl.com:

1. Vasilevskiy
2. Bobrovsky
3. Bishop
4. Price
5. Rask
6. Fleury
7. Holtby
8. Binnington
9. Rinne
10. Gibson

very good list and very well run set of poll.

The goalie position is always a bit harder to rank as there's always so much fluctuation year to year

I mean, they came in 15th and 16th. Who do you think should be above them that wasn't voted above them?

Lehner also has a track record of success, he has a .919 save% in his 3 seasons as a starter in the NHL and a .919 save% overall through over 250 games.

Honestly, once we got past the top 10, the leftovers were rather uninspiring. There are a few who could move into that tier (Hellebuyck, Murray, Binnington, maybe Markstrom), but I would at most be content with them in net. Outside of Rinne (strictly due to age), I'd be very happy with anyone in the top 10.

I don't think there's a dramatic difference between anyone in the 8-15 range :dunno:

That entire group just seems like the collection of above average starters. Nothing spectacular, but above average starters. I think people overstate the differences between guys in that range, any of those guys can outperform any of the others in any given year and have it not be surprising. All of those guys are around .913-.918 goalies, and some of them may have seasons a little bit better or worse. For example, Fleury is probably still better than Dubnyk, but the difference between those two is smaller than the difference between Fleury and someone like Bobrovsky.

Vasilevskiy is a given. Which makes the list a bit boring. Discussing who's #2 isn't as much fun. I will say that Price & Bobrovskiy are overrated, as usual. Which is fine, because they've earned it. Bishop is underrated, as usual. I am rooting for Bishop to win the Vezina this season. I heard some stories about how he well he treated young Vasy, and can't help but admire the guy.
