I also take contracts into account, but OP doesn't prefer that in these polls, so based on GSAA, HDGSAA, and SV%, Bobrovsky & Gibson should be the #1 and #2, respectively. Only on HFboards, would Price contend for top 2.

IMO, trophies and GAA are not the way to equalizing goalies league-wide. I'd rank goalies on all strengths as well as 5v5, with GSAA, HDGSAA, and SV% as evaluators.

For example, a goalie that has a .925 SV% and has faced a lot more shots than average is actually playing better than a goalie that has a .930 SV% and has faced less shots. The first goalie has faced more scoring opportunities, and has saved more goals from going in based on their quality of play.

According to the GSAA statistic, Carey Price hasn't been an elite goalie for a while now. On the most recent sample size he doesn't even crack top 10; 13th place sandwiched between Hellebuyck & Rask.

Carey Price has appeared in the top-10 since 2009 and became the defacto #1 in the league from 2013 until 16-2017, ranking #1 for GSAA.

You're stuck in the past, my friend. Sergei Bobrovsky ranks #1 from 2016-17 until present, followed by John Gibson. 3 years back should be as much as we go in evaluating. When we start going to far into the past, we start creating an agenda.

I'm not sure what you are stating in bold.
If a goalie sees more shots and has a lower save %, that doesn't necessarily mean he is playing better than a goalie who has seen fewer shots with a higher save %.
One thing that can't be quantified is the difficultly of a goalie seeing less shots over the course of a game versus a goalie who is seeing many more shots, allowing him to be more focused and engaged.
Anyone who has played the position will tell you that it is far more difficult to be consistently good when you don't see many shots.

Voted Holtby because I hate when the Pens play against him. But that might be more due to that criteria than anything else. Pens usually feast on Bobrovsky and unless I'm mistaken, don't struggle against Gibson, either.
