NJ is icing an all-time defense. 2nd pair is Butcher-Carrick, 3rd pair is White-Tennyson. One of those guys is a bad NHL defenseman. The other 3 are bad AHL defensemen. Should be interesting.

I had low expectations for this game and am still disappointed after the 1st per.

Give NJ with Fitzgerald to draft and add to the young players like Hughes and Hischer and they can be pretty good in a couple years. I like both centers and with quality forwards, they can have a up and coming future. Unfortunately, they are in a division with the Rangers and Islanders and if the metro is back with Carolina, those teams have SC caliber rosters. Not to mention the Pens and Caps.

How was Bobby Bortozzos cross check to Landeskog’s face that busted him open not get 4 minutes? Ultimately I don’t think it matters to the outcome of this game lol but still, that was bad.

Yeah, two minutes vs four minutes on a high stick is kind of dumb anyway, add to that the fact that the refs could've called Bortuzzo for several things there (my first guess was cross checking, but it may as well have been interference if you squint) and the refs basically had their pick on the length of the penalty.

They called it roughing not high sticking and I dont think drawing blood matters for a roughing penalty.


Should have been a High Sticking penalty though considering it was his stick that cut Landeskog open.
