With all the talk about generational talent and McDavid and Matthews, it seems like the forgotten talent is making his presence known in a big way this year. Eichel might have a Hat Trick + in this game.

Stolarz absolutely robs Sheary on one end and then Ullmark absolutely robs Giroux on the other.

I thought Stolarz was really good that period. He made some crazy stops. The two he got beat on weren’t on him. No one is stopping Eichel’s second that he tipped past him. And the first one he picked the tiny corner. The problem is why Eichel is being given that much space on both goals.

Also congrats to Lawrence Pilut on his first nhl point. He passed it to Eichel on his tip in. I’ve watched him in Rochester and he’s a player. He had some crazy Corsi matche up with the Matthews line last game too. Something like 13 shot attempts for 4 against when they were out together. Buffalo has to move someone because he shouldn’t be going down. Not for Scandella/Beaulieu/Nelson

Would like to see more finish with some of these young Sabres playing. But they are looking decent so far today.

The call on Dahlin was the correct one. Risto was hooked a bit but how many times does that happen in a game?
