Back in 1999 (after Detroit won back to back Cups) - a few buddies of mine, and I went to a Wings/Hawks game in Chicago...There were a ton of Red Wing fans that night - I'd say 40%, or more were wearing the Winged Wheel.
When Hawk fans started to chant 'Detroit sucks' - my friends, and I chanted back 'Stanley Cups' (soon other Wings fans nearby joined in, and drowned out the Chicago fans)...Wasn't too long after that the Wings score - the place erupts - the guy in charge of the goal horn must've fell asleep, and awoke when he heard the noise because he blew the horn - not realizing it was the opposition that scored
