No surprise, Zatkoff is the backup.

Some assumptions, as of 9/17/2015:

  • Fehr will not start the season.
  • Sundqvist, Rust, and Wilson have a slim chance to start in the NHL in a bottom 6 role.
  • Dupuis can play either wing position. He will also not be the 13th forward.

This means that Dupuis is on the 4th line no matter what. I will add more assumptions as the HFBoards lineup is decided.

For this poll, vote for who you think should complete the 4th line. I've included the 3 "youngsters" but have included an option for "Other". If you vote other, please specify who.

Duppers on 4th line? LOL

He is guaranteed to start on line 3 or 4 if at all. He's a complete wildcard at the moment.

I picked Wilson. He's a prototypical grinding LW and the spot is his IMO.

I like Sundqvist more in theory but give him some time working at C in WBS and call him up when the injuries inevitably occur.

Perron-Crosby-Kessel
Plotnikov-Malkin-Hornqvist
Kunitz-(Bonino/Amish Crosby?)-Dupuis
Sundqvist-Cullen-Bennett

Maatta-Letang (this pairing probably lasts 2 games before getting injured)
Pouliot-Cole (Not a fan of DP in 2nd pairing, but rather him than Dumo)
Dumoulin-Lovejoy
Scuderi

Fleury
Murray (getting roughly 40% of starts, and following the rule that he keeps starting after posting .92 SV% or higher in games). Hell, that's not a bad rule for either goaltender. You play well, you play again. You stink, you let the other guy get a shot.

Zatkoff banished to Gulag

This is bad and you should feel bad.

Perron-Crosby-Kessel

Can someone please explain to me what exactly Perron's role on that line would be? I keep seeing this line everywhere and I can't imagine why anyone would advocate it. Three guys who need to carry the puck to be effective.
