It's bizarre how differently LA plays when Quick is in net versus when a backup is (like last night). For years, they've made backup after backup (Jones, Scrivens, Kuemper, Budaj, Campbell, Petersen, etc.) look really, really good, while they've never made Quick look good in the regular season. It's easy to chalk it up to the strength of opponents, but that seems too convenient, and Quick actually got the weaker team tonight. Do they let Quick down (maybe because they play looser in front of a Conn Smythe winner), does he let them down (maybe because he's too aggressive and doesn't settle things down) or is it a combination? Whatever the explanation, it makes me wonder if they'd actually be better off trading him.
