I don't know what stats you're tracking, but I proposed this set last year as I did not like the setup of the original league and it seems that most everyone liked them:

Well, I've been looking at the stats a bit and there are some I disagree with. For one, goalies have 4 of the 10 stats to begin with, which I think is kind of silly because that's almost half of the scoring being tracked for only 1 position, or 2 players on any given night. +/- is also pretty dumb if you ask me because in my opinion the stats should reflect individual skill. Obviously you can't avoid this with goalies, but whatever.

What do you guys think of these stats:

Goals
Assists
PPP
SOG
Blocks
Hits
Faceoffs won

Wins
Sv%
Shutouts

This way not so many stats are dependent on goalies, and all the skater stats are things you can actually draft for and aren't affected by team play too much. Several different types of players have value this way.

Goal scorers (G, PPP, SOG)
Playmakers (A, PPP)
Physical players (HIT)
Powerplay specialists (PPP, SOG)
Faceoff specialists (FW)
Defensive defensemen (blocks)

Goalies on bad teams also have slightly more value without Losses and GAA.

It's also worth noting that if we have a lot of teams like we had last year, it might be a good idea to have 2 leagues. It's not nearly as fun if there are 20 teams in one league. I propose that, if this becomes the case, we create 2 leagues with the same settings and act as though they are the Eastern and Western conferences. Then, to decide the Cup winner, we can have a poll where people vote which of the two conference finals winners they think would win in a 7 game series.

G, A, PIM, +/-, PPP, SOG

W, L, GAA, SV%, SHO

We can adjust those however you guys want to and go from there. I am also okay with making 2 different leagues if we have a lot of people interested again this year.

I'm also in that ESPN league and plan on sticking with it. Between that, my other fantasy hockey league and the fantasy football league I was just roped into I don't think I have time to jump on board another league.

If you go to the league tab on there should be a settings tab or categories tab. Everything is equal 1 and the categories are mentioned earlier in the thread if you just wanted to have a look there instead.

Each week mon-sun you will have a different opponent. At the end of the week if you have more goals then obviously you would win that category and get a point. Same for assists and any other categories we use.
