Going with Helleson again, I think he and Kovalenko have the highest upside left on the board, but I give the edge to the defenseman even though both of them are 2-3 years out from playing in the NHL.

Voting to add LOC and Annunen.

...and that day was earlier in the week...

Me not so smart. Can't read letters well.

It is time to add LOC now for sure. Don't think he has much upside, but he showed real well last year.

AJG. The guy is pretty damn close to being a homegrown cheap 4th line NHL grinder with hands. Imo he just needs a chance. I know he's just a bottom six guy but every franchise needs guys like these...

Helleson next but he's a long ways away...

Based on the rankings and voting so far, there seems to be several prospect tiers. Does the following list seem reasonable?

A+ prospects
  • Makar (2017 #4) - RD
  • Byram (2019 #4) - LD
A- prospects
  • Newhook (2019 #16) - C
  • Timmins (2017 #32) - RD
  • Jost (2016 #10) - C
  • Kaut (2018 #16) - RW
  • Bowers (2017 #28) - C ***
*** Note: It's arguable whether Bowers is an A- prospect or a B+ due to the apparent tier-gap between Kaut and Bowers in the vote above, but I put him as an A- as well because he's a former 1st round pick and because the staff seem really high on him. For example, in this article on Bowers which was published last week there's a quote by Alan Hepple (Avs' Director of Amateur Scouting) from when Bowers was acquired in the Duchene trade, where he confirms that they considered Bowers to be a 1st rounder:
“We liked him his draft year. That was the one thing. We knew we weren’t going to get him where we were picking. He was going to be gone before our second pick. But we liked him.”

B prospects
  • Kamenev (2014 #42) - C
  • Meloche (2015 #40) - RD
  • Hellesson (2019 #47) - RD
  • Kovalenko (2018 #171) - RW
  • Greer (2015 #39) - LW
C prospects
  • Ranta, Shyvrev, Morisson, Henry, Werner, Annunen, Weiss, Saigeon, etc

Lol :laugh::laugh:

I make the distinction between A and B prospects that 'A' prospects are highly likely to become full-time NHL players - which is true of Newhook, Timmins (if healthy!), Kaut, and Bowers. Jost already is one but I included him here anyways.

Kamenev; Meloche; Hellesson; Kovalenko; and Greer are all more uncertain than the aforementioned "A prospects", but not really the extreme long-shots I mentioned as C prospects. Maybe I should just call A- "B" instead, and B, C. Either way the title of the tiers aren't important, it's the tiers themselves that matter. :)

In a non-smartass manner. Not in my order, just following how teams would rank them for trades. The / prospects would be debatable depending on scouts. Impact means top 6/4.

A prospects (blue chippers, sure thing impact):
Makar
Byram

A-/B+ prospects (solid potential for impact, some flaws):
Newhook
Timmins (if recovered and not stagnated)

B prospects (average chance at impact, good NHL chance):
Kaut
Bowers

B-/C+ prospects (chance at impact, average NHL chance):
Helleson
Meloche
Kovalenko

C prospects (very low chance at impact, low NHL chance, no real value):
Ranta
Werner
Annunen
Weiss
Morrison
Zhuravlyov
Burzan
Beaucage
LOC

D prospects (long shots, no value)
Shvy
Saigeon
Henry
Lewis
Stienburg
etc

Reclamation Potential:
Kamenev
Greer
