Family Affair in Brooklyn
PPV opens with the ring announcer Howard Finkle welcoming everyone and introducing John Legend backed by the Boys Choir of Harlem singing a powerful rendition of Star Spangled Banner at the Barclay Centre. Howard Finkle introduces each match.
The commentary team is made up of: Corey Graves, Hugo Savinovich, and Byron Saxton.

First Match
Dolph Ziggler v. Bob Backlund for the Intercontinental Title
Bob Backlund recently won the title at the last PPV. Last week on RAW, Ziggler challenged Backlund to a title shot, which Backlund proudly accepted. It is a high energy, power-house match. Ziggler dominates with 2 near-falls, but Backlund gets the submission and retains with the Crossface Chicken Wing.
A promo airs hyping up the TLC match showcasing each wrestler and their motivation for the North American Championship.
Zack Ryder currently holds the belt. Cedric Alexander, who currently holds the Cruiserweight Championships, says that he has earned his seat at the "big boy" table. Adam Page says that his beef is with Zach Ryder and Chavo Guerrero, because Ryder sabotaged his match with Guerrero last week on Smackdown. Chavo Guerrero states that he's ready to fly to the top, and he is sick of helping other people get there. Finally, Drew McIntyre states that he is ready to become the legend he was born to be.
Second Match
The Hooliganz (Brian Kendrick/Paul London) v. The Ascension (Konnor/Viktor) for the World Tag Team Championship
On the last PPV, The Ascension had the upset narrowly took the titles from The Hooliganz. Prior to this loss, The Hooliganz had held the belt for 96 days. This is their rematch, sanctioned by the GM of RAW. It’s a powerful match, with a mix of high flying and some power moves. The teams are well matched, but The Ascension get the upper hand. The Hooligans come back with a near fall via the Shooting Star Press by London on Viktor, but he is able to recover. The Ascension get the win with Viktor pinning London.
Segment
Elias v. Jesse James (aka Road Dogg)
The room goes dark. When the lights come up, Elias is sitting in the ring with his guitar. He introduces his next song as a tribute to Brooklyn, and it being overrated. He includes that the Brooklyn Nets aren’t worth their hype. Before the song is finished Jesse James (aka Road Dogg) enters to his theme music playing. Jesse James states that he is sick of Elias and his acoustic music. He knows that the greatest hit of all time is “With my Baby Tonight” and that is the type of music the people of Brooklyn want to hear. He treats the audience to a rendition, until Elias cuts him short and says he doesn’t have what it takes to be at the top of the charts and attacks Jesse James. The two brawl. Jesse James gets in some good hits, but Elias dominates, leaving Jesse James hobbling out.
William Regal v. Brock Lesnar Backstage Interview with Paul Heyman hyping up Brock Lesnar and Renne Young interviewing
These two will face each other for the World Heavyweight Championship later this evening. A lot of people don’t know, William Regal got his start fighting on the mean streets of England and he is more than capable of holding his own. He got the upper hand in many fights through being smarter and slicker than his opponent. He says Brock Lesnar is a good fighter, but he has never fought anyone as cunning and ruthless as him in the ring. Lesnar may be bigger and stronger than him, but he won’t be able to outsmart him. Heyman basically scoffs at Regal and says he doesn’t have a chance. Lesnar eats guys like Regal for breakfast and Regal needs to plead for mercy from THE BEAST!!
Fourth Match
Alexa Bliss v. Sara Del Rey with interference by Natalya
Alexa Bliss has been the reigning champ for 67 days. She has been proclaiming herself to be the one behind the women’s’ revolution and has been taking credit. She has been challenged by none other than Sara Del Rey, who has trained much of the female talent. She is sick of Bliss taking credit for her, and other women’s’ work. When the match starts, Bliss does get in some good hits, but Del Rey dominates her. As it looks like Bliss is about to fade, Natalya enters the ring. As one of the women who has been with the company the longest, she is sick of her efforts being looked over, and she knows she has surpassed both Bliss and Del Rey in skill. Del Rey says she’s ready to face both wrestlers. She and Del Rey brawl for a little bit, with Natalya getting the upper hand. Natalya moves her focus to Bliss, incapacitating her. Natalya thinks she has both of them beat, but Del Rey comes back and gets Natalya into a submission.
A promo airs showing for Dusty Rhodes v. EC3 for the United States Championship
EC3 currently holds the belt. Dusty Rhodes states that he is sick of EC3 bragging about being in the 1%. He knows that EC3 does not represent the hard-working American people. He knows that EC3 doesn’t know his way around the ring, and does not know anything about life in America or hard times. He is going to bring the pain on EC3 tonight in the ring.
Backstage interview with Zack Ryder, Adam Page, and Chavo Guerrero with Renne Young
Renee Young is inquiring about the match last week that Ryder interfered with between Chavo Guerrero and Adam Page. The three superstars argue a little bit backstage, but they come to a mutual understanding that Drew McIntyre is the one to beat. Their best shot is to have the three of them team up against Drew McIntyre. Adam Page reluctantly agrees, and an alliance is formed.
Match Five
Dusty Rhodes v. EC3 for the United States Championship
Building upon their feud, as established in the promo, Dusty takes on EC3. Dusty allows EC3 to get in some early hits to tire him out, but Dusty takes the upper hand and dominates. After three near-falls, Dusty gets the pin on EC3 and proudly takes the title.
Match Six
Tables, Ladders and Chairs Match with Drew McIntyre, Zack Ryder, Cedric Alexander, Chavo Guerrero, and Adam Page for the North American Championship
Ryder, Guerrero and Page use their alliance to take an early attack on McIntyre, who is surprised by their alliance. McIntyre puts up a good fight, but he isn’t able to take on the three of them. Meanwhile, Cedric Alexander is able to get a ladder and take a shot at the belt by getting a ladder. He climbs ¾ of the way up, when McIntyre knocks down the ladder. Alexander now turns on McIntyre as well. All four are working on McIntyre. When he is almost incapacitated, Ryder and Guerrero turn on the other two. Ryder focuses on Alexander and Guerrero focuses on Page. Page is shocked by this betrayal. Both pairs are equally matched. While the others are occupied, McIntyre is able to pull the strength together to get a ladder, climb up and take the title!
Backstage Family Affair Interview with Ric Flair, Charlotte Flair and Renee Young
Ric Flair and Charlotte Flair know that they are they are the first family of wrestling. They know that they are genetically superior to any one else who tries to take that from them. Wrestling comes easy to them, and no one else comes close. They are sick and tired of the Garganos prancing around as a power couple. They want to show them their place, and that the Garganos will never eclipse the Flairs. They can’t wait to show them who is superior in the intergender tag match coming up.
Match Seven
William Regal v. Brock Lesnar for the World Heavyweight Championship
Paul Heyman comes out promoting “The Beast” Brock Lesnar. He is INSULTED that someone of Regal’s standing would even have the nerve to challenge someone like Lesnar. He scoffs at Regal and says he has never experienced anything like the pain that is about the be inflicted on him. He tells Regal to beg for mercy. Regal reiterates that Lesnar may be bigger and stronger than he is, but he will never be as slick or as smart as he is. The match starts. Lesnar initially gets the upper-hand and takes Regal on a trip to Suplex City, but Regal is stronger and quicker than Lesnar imagained. Regal being a SouthPaw throws him for a loop. He is actually able to get some good hits in on Lesnar. He actually has Lesnar bleeding out of his nose. However, at this point Lesnar starts to get really mad and the power house comes out. He lays an intense beating on Regal, who also bleeds. Once Regal is passed the point of exhaustion, Lesnar get the pin via the F5 and retains the belt.
Match Eight
Intergender Tag Match featuring Ric Flair, Charlotte Flair, Johnny Gargano, and Candice LeRae
The Garganos have a super high-energy entrance, while the Flairs have a very over-the-top entrance. The rules of the match are explained by Howard Finkle. The bell goes with Charlotte and Candice in the ring. The two women are well matched and have a great sequence with flips and suplexes. Candice gets tired and taps out to Johnny. He is initially hesitating to take any hard hits on Charlotte. He is taking it easy on her, but she shows no mercy. She gets him into her figure eight submission but he is able to get the ropes. He is no longer taking it easy on her. He gets her into the Gargano Escape, but she too is able to get to the ropes and tags out to Ric, while Johnny tags out to Candice. Initially, Ric also takes it easy on Candice, shouting woo and trying to impress her with his physique and strut. After she rejects his advances, he no longer takes it easy on her. She tags out fairly quickly, and Johnny and Ric have a sequence filled with mat wrestling. Johnny does get the upper-hand and Ric tags out to Charlotte. Upon this meeting, Johnny is ready. He gets some good hits in on Charlotte. However, while Ric causes a distraction by blowing kisses to Candice, Charlotte thinks that the ref is speaking to her dad. Charlotte gives Johnny a quick and strong kick in the balls. Johnny keels over in pain, and Charlotte thinks she is able to get the pin. She did not realize that the ref saw everything, and the match ends via disqualification and the Garganos are declared the winners. The Flairs vow to get revenge.

Background:

No Blows to the Face Match: Alex Shelley vs. Dalton Castle (With The Boys)

Never content with merely wrestling, the party peacock Dalton Castle insisted that wrestling’s only paparazzi photographer Alex Shelley take some candid beauty shots to add to his extensive portfolio. Ultimately the shots ended up too candid and rather unflattering to Castle, with shots of him with food in his glorious mustache, crocs on his feet, a puka shell necklace tight to his neck, and even a traditional wrestling fanny pack around his waist. After Shelley leaked (or was hacked, as he claimed) some of the photos, Castle retaliated by dying Shelley’s trademark faux hawk a boring brown and scratching the lens of his favourite camera. Despite the fierce heat of their blood feud, both men have agreed that even revenge isn’t worth damaging their beautiful faces.

The Sunny Side: Mike Awesome, Chad & Tad (Formerly John Laurinaitis and Terry Taylor) (With Tammy Sytch) vs. Kill Machine: Killian Dain, War Machine Hanson, Dave Mastiff (With Lou Albano)

Since Tammy Sytch first arrived in JackSlater Promotions her touch has been golden. The pants-suit wearing vixen took the downtrodden San Jose Wreckers, Chad Lawrence and Tad Taylor, and turned them into tag team champions. She took Mike Awesome, languishing in the mid card, cut his stupid mullet that she said made him look like almost as much of a hillbilly as the typical wrestling fan, told him to shut up and listen to her, and led him to the top. With her brains, and the occasional feminine wiles, Ms. Sytch has had no trouble keeping her oafs in line. The only speed bump in her ascent took place when she bumped into a group of hairy, sweaty men backstage and overreacted. Proclaiming them gross, Sunny had her boys deliver a brutal beatdown to Hanson and his former teammate, who was so severely injured that he had to leave for a lesser promotion. The similarly unique looking Killian Dain jumped in to help and created the new team Kill Machine, which has been augmented by manager Lou Albano and his charge Dave Mastiff. The honour of bearded fat men everywhere is on the line.

Rick Rude vs. Keith Lee

Newcomer Keith Lee has won many fans over with his larger than life presence and charisma. Rick Rude however, finds Lee to be merely larger than large. During one of his trademark pre-match verbal assaults Rude began comparing the typical inner city sweathog to Keith Lee, prompting Lee to run to the ring. Rude insulted Lee further, commenting that he was too busy eating fried chicken and chicken wings to get the kind of body that could compete with the Ravishing One. Lee retorted that while he was in fact a fan of fried chicken, like any other red-blooded male, it was Rude who was walking around on little chicken legs. Since then crowds have been chanting “chicken legs” at Rude, despite his furious proclamations that this is an upper body business. A fuming Rude has challenged Lee to a pose down, a race and a pushup contest, with each event having been won by Lee. Upon Lee’s victories and the continued chants from the crowd Rude has snapped, prompting a final showdown to decide what a real wrestler looks like.

Intercontinental Championship Match*:Tully Blanchard (Champion, With Chris Nowinski) vs. Fit Finlay vs. Dr. Death Steve Williams vs. Gary Albright

Special Guest Referee: Bill Watts
*Blanchard must take the fall for the title to change hands

Tully Blanchard has long been claiming that he is suffering the effects of a serious concussion, often paradoxically wearing a neckbrace to the ring and refusing to defend his title. He has resisted attempts by Bill Watts to strip him of his title by bringing in concussion advocate and Harvard grad Chris Nowinski to argue that no one should have to lose status at work due to concussions and even threatening to sue due to his “unsafe work environment”. Attempts by Blanchard and Nowinski to have blows to the head banned, which Blanchard claims will allow the fans to enjoy Tully Blanchard’s wrestling for as long as possible, have fallen on deaf ears after Tully delivered a piledriver on the cold concrete to Finlay in a previous match, in which head blows were banned, to retain his belt via disqualification. Watts has now scheduled a four-way title match, blows to the head allowed, with the stipulation that the title can only change hands if Blanchard himself is pinned.

Live Stream Update on Angelo Poffo’s health

“The Miser” Angelo Poffo has been laid up for weeks since his brutal beating at the hands of Cactus Jack. He joins us from his bed at the Sisters of Saint Martha convent to update us on the status of his health.

Women’s Championship Match*: Toni Storm (With The Prince of Wrestling) vs. Aja Kong

*If Aja Kong wins, she gets three minutes alone in the ring with The Prince of Wrestling

The Prince of Wrestling has been near the top of women’s division since its debut several months ago. His young protégé Toni Storm has been the beneficiary of the Prince’s antics as he has provided ample distractions for her to capitalized on during her matches. This recipe for success has proved ineffective against the rather rotund, bi-racial Aja Kong however, as the women’s champion has thus far ignored the Prince’s vulgar jabs and instead focused on brutalizing Storm as the Prince flees. With Storm and the Prince desperate to have the gold around the Prince’s waist but with Kong having nothing to prove, Bill Watts has stepped in and added the stipulation that while Storm gets a title shot, Kong gets three minutes alone in the ring with the Prince should she prove victorious. Perhaps the public will finally find out if the Prince does EVERYTHING as well as he claims.

Roman Reigns (With Tammy Sytch) vs. Ricky Steamboat

JackSlater Promotions’ brilliant bombshell, Tammy Sytch, is used to getting what she wants. After taking her protégé Mike Awesome to the cusp of the main event, Ms. Sytch was shocked to see him defeated by the ultimate everyman, Ricky Steamboat. Steamboat caught the vixen’s eye, though her attempts to seduce him, through propositions both business based and otherwise, failed. Enraged, the proud Ms. Sytch called upon her daddy for the money to hire Roman Reigns, who long ago stopped trying to appease fans and now works for whoever pays up. After a series of increasingly brutal attacks by Reigns, particularly one that left Steamboat bloody in front of his son and wife at May Day Massacre, wrestling’s ultimate family man has partially given in to Ms. Sytch’s demands and agreed to share the ring, if not the bed, with her as he confronts Reigns. Ms. Sytch remains confident that with Reigns as her shield, she will soon have Steamboat as the sword to her sheath.

Tex Ferguson & Chad 2 Badd vs. The Murdoch Boys (Dick Murdoch and Trevor Murdoch)

* Winner gets the baby blue Camaro

Good friends and better enemies, Tex Ferguson and Chad 2 Badd have reunited for a common goal – saving
Tex’s beautiful baby blue Camaro, replete with a 350 under the hood and dual exhaust, from the clutches of The Murdoch Boys, Dick and Trevor. While the two former compadres had been engaged in a blood feud over the affections of Susie, neither could stand to see what was happening to the car in which they had each become very good friends with Susie for the first time. With the Murdochs taking Tex’s blue baby out muddin, having the confederate flag painted on it, and shooting antique cans off the hood, the boys from Southpaw have had just about all that they can take.

Kenta Kobashi vs. Tomohiro Ishii

Tomohiro Ishii has long looked up to Kenta Kobashi, quietly dreaming of one day facing off against the legend despite being far lower in the company hierarchy. In a rare interview, Ishii revealed that he always dreamed of facing Kobashi and being the first man to kick out of his famous Burning Hammer, which has been used only seven times ever. Shortly after Summerfest XX-8 Ishii challenged Kobashi, only for the legend to politely refuse. In response Ishii began running roughshod over the middle of the card and established a long winning streak. Challenging Kobashi again, Ishii was tersely told that he was too small to fight. An enraged Ishii began observing Kobashi’s matches from ringside and even attacking Kobashi’s opponents before they reached the ring, incensing the legend. Ishii has claimed that he needs to face Kobashi in order to have a respectable career and that if he merely receives the Burning Hammer, even without kicking out, it will be enough to allow him to retire with honour. Kobashi has finally relented but warned Ishii that he is playing with fire and is asking to be burned.

Best 2/3 Falls Heavyweight Championship Match: Macho Man Randy Savage (Champion, With Miss Elizabeth) vs. Mick Foley

Macho Man Randy Savage has long reigned as heavyweight champion and face of JackSlater Promotions. Things took a slight turn however after Miss Elizabeth, ever sympathetic, tended to a severely wounded Mankind after his brutal May Day Massacre match vs Kenta Kobashi. Mankind grew infatuated with Miss Elizabeth, drawing the ire of a jealous Savage and eliciting multiple beatings as he showed up at Savage matches armed with dull roses. Savage was further flummoxed when Dude Love began appearing at his matches, and even in his locker room, professing his admiration for Savage and how Savage was what every cool cat aspired to be. This further infuriated Savage and even caused him to lose matches via disqualification due to interference via Mankind or Dude Love and countouts. Following a blowup where Savage left Mankind/Dude Love as a bloody pulp, Cactus Jack emerged. Cactus was a fan of neither Elizabeth nor Savage and claimed that he was there to protect Mankind and Dude Love, whose crimes were merely “loving” Savage and his wife. After brutalizing Savage repeatedly, hospitalizing Angelo Poffo and seemingly leaving Miss Elizabeth injured backstage, Cactus became Savage’s target. Fans have been torn between supporting the sympathetic Mankind along with the humourous Dude Love and jeering the brutal Cactus Jack. Attempts to challenge Cactus Jack saw Dude Love or Mankind emerge in his place, enraging Savage who accused Cactus Jack, the only personality Savage claims is really there, of playing games in an attempt to distract him and eventually take the title. It has been decided that Savage will take on Mankind/Dude Love/Cactus Jack in a best 2/3 falls match, with Macho vowing to make Cactus Jack, in particular, pay

JackSlater has written a masterclass in story telling, particularly Rude vs Lee, as well as the main event. Very inventive, creative and believable all around despite the mixing ofveras and changing up of characters.

theedge9 has a good collection of wrestlers, I would particularly pay to see Ziggler vs Backlund, two of my boys, but I find it should be higher on the card personally. Lesnar vs Regal and Flairs vs Gargano/Larae are potentially great, but too modern for me to give them the edge over JackSlater when comparing.

theedge9 has some good ideas but JackSlater is my favorite to win this year's edition. Brilliant stuff all around and props for the ideas he came up with. Has Foley ever used all 3 gimmicks in a single match beside that time at the Royal Rumble?

JackSlater has a very creative card with some incredible storytelling.

I did have to vote for my own card simply because I would absolutely love to see my Main Event, my women's match and Elias and Jesse James would REALLY crack me up. Obviously, I made it to my own tastes lol .

I personally gave the edge to @theedge9

@JackSlater has some terrific storytelling. His main event would be incredible.

However I also think Flairs vs Garganos would be incredible and the four could put on a 5 star storytelling match.

These two are incredibly close, and can so either winning.

Well done both of you!

Good opponent.

theedge9: I really like this card. Backlund vs Ziggler is a logical pairing, but I would like to see the high strung Backlund taking offence to Ziggler's showing off. Road Dogg singing "With My Baby Tonight" is masterful and gets my vote almost every time. That is the most entertaining segment anyone has on their show. I really like Lesnar vs Regal too, particularly because it puts Regal in the main event spot I always wanted for him. A few nitpicks would be that the tag team and women's matches seem a bit below the rest of the card. I didn't like using Ric Flair in a tag team match initially, but the story behind it makes it acceptable and a credible main event. I really do enjoy the writeups too. One of my favourite cards...

JackSlater: But obviously this is my favourite. I made the card for myself so obviously I like it a lot. Last year I had, in my opinion, an obscene amount of talent on my card. I knew that I couldn't match that again so I went for story and the right wrestlers for the right roles. I will say that while I know exactly what I'm going for, I am not thrilled with the writing. Would have liked to get what I wanted across in fewer words. Dave Mastiff was an audible after Rowe from War Machine was taken and makes the six man tag match awkward. I'm not a big fan of women's wrestling so I can't vouch for the quality of the match I made, I just wanted the Prince to get beaten by one of Awesome Kong, Bull Nakano or Aja Kong. I'm also torn on Steamboat vs Reigns. I don't care for Reigns, but I wanted a mercenary type for Sunny to hire and Reigns just lazily reverting to being The Shield again fits well enough. Cesaro was supposed to be in that role originally. I think that this is basically the best possible platform for Reigns (no pandering to audience, a manager who can talk, opponent who can carry him) but I still question if I shouldn't have just scrapped my plan and found the best wrestler I could for Steamboat to face off against.

I really appreciate the story-telling here.

@theedge9 : Biggest win for me right away was Regal vs Lesnar and Regal getting his due. I think the build would be fantastic and Regal could make Lesnar look good in the match. I'm disappointed Regal loses, but I didn't hold that against you. Not a fan of the mixed tag match. Don't like it as a main event and think you could have pulled off the story with separate matches even though I like the idea of the actual feud. Ziggler vs Backlund is interesting, but I think it should be higher up the card. Love that you put the promos in between the matches which is like I was doing with the interviews on my card. I also feel like this is a lot of what you wanted to do which I like to see.

@JackSlater : Really like the story telling here. For me it takes your card to a level that with just the names involved I wouldn't rate as highly. Main event is good no matter what, and I don't like Savage, but you built it well and came up with the perfect match. I'd be curious how you would write Foley getting from one gimmick's look to the other. Oh, and I love that the Cactus Jack gimmick is played up like it is. Keith Lee vs Rude is also great. I would have just had Keith Lee walk to the ring with an actual bucket of chicken. The blue Camaro bit is absolute gold! I also like the Castle vs Shelley match, but I would have made it for the Television Championship. I also like the Poffo live stream, but would have had him in a coma and have an attempted interview where of course he responds to no questions. Oh, and I can't forget that Intercontinental Title match. Love the story and you could have just had Tully vs Dr Death, but with Watts and Nowinski of course.

Some interesting thoughts here that I can respond to.

I agree that the Foley main event is somewhat hard to picture, but I see it breaking down something like Savage wins the first fall over Dude Love in his tie dyed attire. Savage is pissed because he wants Cactus but eventually gets the win. The crowd is on Dude's side. In some way between falls Dude gets away (rolls under the ring because something "accidental" happened to Elizabeth and Savage and the camera aren't looking, maybe he is under a broken table due to a top rope elbow drop and subsequent countout etc.) and gets the mask on. Second part is Mankind, but Savage doesn't want to win here. Mankind is still dangerous however, but at some point he gets distracted by Elizabeth (she gets knocked off the apron, still weak from before or some shenanigans) and Mankind goes to her. Savage freaks and beats Mankind with a chair or some other illegal object, giving Mankind the fall. Whether this was intentional on Mankind's part is up for interpretation. After this the mask comes off, the shirt comes off and it is Cactus Jack, just as Savage wanted all along. Cactus wrestles pretty much as a heel though. It might make more sense to start as Mankind, but it has to end with Cactus and going from Dude Love to Cactus Jack might not be enough of a visual change. Dude has his tie dyed shirt, perhaps it gets a bit ripped somehow and he puts no the mask to be Mankind, but then the mask comes off and Dude's tie dyed shirt is ripped off to reveal the final boss.

The main thing is that I drafted Savage, one of my top five wrestlers ever, but couldn't think of a good, new opponent for him. I thought of having him face Foley and that seemed fresh, and the idea came to mind that I could use a 2/3 falls match without drafting it and Foley had three personas anyway. It was never done in a singles match, so that was that. It is a tricky thing to imagine, but I like to leave the matches themselves for each person to consider (or not) and I do think that it is something that would be possible to pull off.

Castle vs Shelley would be fine for a title, but I never used a third singles title before. I just wanted a somewhat comedic match to start things off. If I had a third title that would have been the match for it. I took Shelley for a completely different plan, but when his planned opponent went I needed to scramble and this is what I came up with. Part of the feud comes from a funny "revenge" tale I remember some guy talking about in high school. Castle is great for comedic stuff and Shelley is someone I've long liked and hadn't drafted before.

Angelo Poffo was supposed to be Lanny, but GongShowWIlly shocked me by selecting him. Lanny would have been brutalized by Cactus Jack and we would have had a live poem reading from his hospital room. This would have been at the mid point of the show to be a bit of comedy while also reminding people of the main event. I was displeased when Lanny went, but then i remembered that Angelo was a wrestler too. He didn't have an entertaining gimmick like Lanny, and basically the only thing I know about him is that he was notably cheap and ran outlaw shows in the territory days. I still needed someone to take a beating to establish the threat of Cactus Jack so I selected him, but it was a better fit with Lanny. I also wanted Jay Lethal to be Black Machismo and get beaten by Cactus Jack, but he was selected before I could get him.

The Tully feud would work with just Dr. Death, it's true. I was seduced by talent though. My initial plan was just Tully vs Finlay, as I am a big Finlay fan and I wanted to use a tough guy with a piledriver finisher. When Dr. Death kept falling though I couldn't resist and took him. He fit in pretty easily with his ridiculously hard hitting offence, and he was a typical Bill Watts guy. I decided that I might as well go for a four way to make things a little different, and to drive home the point that Watts was trying to really give Tully his comeuppance, so I wanted WALTER for a more modern guy who is still very brutal in his offence. He went just before I planned to take him so I went with Albright, a guy I really like from 90s AJPW with a very brutal offence build around slams to the head and neck.

Anyway I appreciate the thoughts. The builds are the most interesting part of this whole thing to me.

God damn Willy for robbing us of a potential killer poem/Genius promo.
