I don't know man. His mom was so annoying with the whining and poor me attitude.

I give her a pass because she's just a typical senile old lady. Besides she was pretty much out of the picture after the first season. His son, talk about a poor me attitude. The apathy, using depression as an excuse to get people to feel sorry for him (I know people myself included who suffered from depression and I've found it takes more than watching the news to make one want to kill themselves), he was just the worst. It must be a sign of a great show or great writing when you can create so many hated characters.

You have a fair point here. It didn't help that the actor playing him was pretty mediocre. But yes it does speak of the quality of the writing, I despised Ralph, Tony's mom and his sister

No slight on anybody here. Just a mere observation. It always shocks me how (one of) the most popular show on TV, never gets any awards or even nominations. Whether it be REAL awards shows, or here on HFBoards...

There's obviously some categorizes that THE WALKING DEAD should not even be acknowledged in, just find it weird how it either gets no press or negative press.

Popularity only has a correlation to accessibility/watchability, it has no correlation with greatness, IMO.

I voted for Rick Grimes.

Though as much as I like that show, it is not on the same level as the all time greats to me.

I've soured on TWD. I thought last season was pretty good but it became predictable and all about the what happens next/thriller grab. I mean how many characters did they show on the verge of death to be miraculously saved? It gets old. The characters see little development imo. It's just run it's course and I hope to see it end soon.

Because it's an average to below-average show. The acting isn't very good and the writing can be downright comical (in a bad way) at times. It's not shocking at all that it doesn't get nominated or wins any awards.

If there was a category for shows that had an amazing first season and then turned into absolute garbage I'd easily vote the Walking Dead.

I've noticed that I seem to consistently feel like most shows (and albums for that matter) that have a reputation for being good for one season and then falling off a cliff and becoming terrible, were actually pretty terrible in that first season as well. Walking Dead, Prison Break, etc..

Maybe I should watch season 1 of TWD over again but I thought it was very well done and had a ton of promise. Would never even bother with Prison Break as a show with that theme on network TV is ridiculous, especially as a huge fan of Oz.
