Florida has to be #1 with this draft, plus Schenn leaving LA

With a top 10 of...

Huberdeau
Markstrom
Gudbranson
Bjugstad
Howden
Grimaldi
Shore
Petrovic
Bengtsson
McFarland

Huberdeau is the only high end forward their imo. I like the depth but not the quality of some other top fives. I don't think that someone like Howden or Bjugstad will be close to ppg scorers. Maybe 60 pts, and they won't get too far on Florida anyways. Markstrom good goalie prospect but...he is a goalie.

Still have a better D now and in the future than Ottawa, so the penis envy, while adorable, is futile on your end.

Grachev's failure was the most well guarded "secret" on HF. We Rangers fans did a good job holding him in high esteem while he floundered in the AHL.

Don't think so. If there is one thing Ottawa has is a outstanding future on Defence.

Every team in the top5 will move up cause not only did the Kings lose Schenn but they also didn't get to "reload" as they had no first. Then if Bernier isn't counted anymore I doubt they are top10. Though still have 3-4 second tier prospects that I can see keeping them around 10-15ish.

To be fair, the Rangers have Staal, Girardi, McDonagh, Sauer and (ugh...) Gilroy playing right now with McIlrath and Erixon coming through. I love Karlsson, Cowen and Rundblad, but right now as in today, the Rangers are winning here.

Biggs - 7C
Percy - 7.5C

Filatov - 8D

Leafs - About 11th.
Sens - Maybe 6th?

Grachev demanded to be traded.

Players that demand trades, and can use the KHL threat, are not returning anything substantial.

The story I hear is that he asked to be traded because he felt he needed a change of scenery, and that he felt he wasn't going to get a real shot to crack the Rangers' lineup.

There's a big difference between "demanded a trade" and "asked for a change of scenery," but I understand that Ranger fans are obligated to run Grachev down because he didn't want to be a Ranger any more.

I'm not a big fan of these letter grades, because they're so subjective and because they're awarded by people who don't evaluate prospects for a living.

St. Louis still has one of the better prospect pools in the league, however, despite not having a first-rounder this weekend. Rattie and Jaskin both were ranked by more than one objective observer as legitimate first-round talents, Edmundson is very well thought of, and if his Saint John teammates are any judges of talent, then Ryan Tesink is the steal of the draft, as Huberdeau, Phillips and Beaulieu all had good things to say about him in an article I read (and which is linked in the "St. Louis Game Time" Blues Draft Review.)

There aren't a lot of organizations who have a Top Seven that's better than this:

1. Vladimir Tarasenko
2. Jaden Schwartz
3. Jake Allen
4. Ian Cole
5. Evgeny Grachev
6. Dmitrij Jaskin
7. Ty Rattie

Your ratings on Biggs, Percy and Leivo are a bit generous, among others. Reimer has a good rookie season and he's all of a sudden a higher prospect rating than Markstrom, Rask, and Bernier?

love how filatov goes to the sens and becomes an 8.5 in some sens fans eyes. yet as a blue jacket he was an 8.0.

He does have potential to be a gamebreaker. HF usually has bad potential ratings. I would trust a die hard hockey fan's opinion over this site's.
In my opinion Filatov is around a 8.5C

Perfect example is my very own favourite team's list.
Here is a look at the Nucks list and what it should actually be (my number in brackets):
1(1). Cody Hodgson
2(4). Anton Rodin
3(7). Sergei Shirokov
4(3). Jordan Schroeder
5(6). Bill Sweatt
6(8). Kevin Connauton
7(11). Patrick McNally
8(2). Chris Tanev
9(5). Eddie Lack
10(12). Joe Cannata
11(9). Yann Sauve
12(19). Adam Polasek
13(20). Steven Anthony
14(HM). Alex Friesen
15(17). Jermey Price
16(16). Mario Bliznak
17(14). Prab Rai
18(13). Peter Andersson
19(HM). Darren Archibald
20(18). Jonathan Illahiti

HM:
(15). Aaron Volpatti
(10). Sebastien Erixon
Sawyer Hannay
Kellan Tochkin
Stefan Schneider

Chris Tanev is a 6.0C. He signed with the Canucks last off season and in his 1st season as a pro season he has already reached that 6.0 potential. I would say he should be around 7.5B

Aaron Volpatti is in his 1st pro year and already has played in the NHL. he should have a potential of 6.0B not 5.0C

Thats just noting the 2 biggest mistakes

you're probably right. Reimer if he repeats should be an 8B or so and it wouldn't matter if Markstrom, Rask or Bernier are rated higher if they don't get it done. Rask I think is better than Reim's but he also played behind Bruins stingy system so who knows.

I would rearrange some of the rankings but I agree, the Islanders have to be in the conversation. Obviously as an Islander fan I have a bias, but I tip my hat where it is due.

I mean how about the Flyers adding Schenn and Couturier to their farm system?
Nashville without a doubt has some of the best D specs. Rangers as well.
Etc...

All-said-and-done the Islanders have absolutely wedged their selves into the conversation.
