So for the last few years we've done an Early Bird draft that starts the day after the Trade Deadline once picks are generally finalized.

Start of first round is 8am Tuesday, February 26.

Rules:

1. No Trades

2. 6 hours between picks; however you can pick as long as a 2nd person hasn't drafted after your pick.

3. Clock runs from 8am to 10pm. If someone makes a pick at 9:30pm the next person would have until 1:30pm the next day to pick.

4. If you miss 2 picks in a row, you lose your team. It will be assigned to someone else.

5. I'm considering reducing it from 7 to 5 rounds.

If you're in let me know below, and add any thoughts/comments too. I'm open to suggestions.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ok, so it looks like we have 20 people depending on whether @ahmedou 's answer was a yes.

We're going to do 5 rounds. We'll start at 8 am, Tuesday, February 26. If you know that your draft pick is coming up, but can't make it for some reason please notify a fellow draftee, so that they can make the pick for you. Or, just let me know who you want to draft.

Picks that are conditional we'll treat as NOT happening (for instance, NYR gets TB's 1st round pick in 2019 if they win the Cup in 2019). If TB does not win the Cup, NYR gets their 2nd round pick. For this draft, the TB GM will have a 1st round pick, but the NYR GM will have TB's 2nd round pick.

Haven't looked deep into the draft, but I'd like to give it a shot. What are the rules ? Is it just a draft to win the right to brag ?

Edit : I will be more comfortable with a 5-round draft, since I don't know that much.

I haven't done near the research as last year, but if it's 5 rounds, I think I can handle that.

Count me in.

Also, suggestion if a person misses their pick, we should just auto-pick to move things along. Guess we can use the CSB?

2019 Draft Prospect Rankings | NHL Draft Prospect Rankings

Yeah, we'll auto if they miss their turn. We'll do 5 rounds. 7 rounds is pain stakingly long and a lot of partipation dwindles.
