This is a good team but I don't see why its the clear favourite. I feel like this is the Crosby effect.

Pat Maroon (900k) - Sidney Crosby (8.70m) - Brendan Gallagher (3.75m)
Jesper Bratt (749k) - Mikael Backlund (5.35m) - Jakub Voracek (8.25m)
Brandon Saad (6.00m) - Jordan Staal (6.00m) - XXXXXXXX
Brandon Tanev (3.50m) - XXXXXXXX - XXXXXXXX

Thomas Chabot (863k) - Jeff Petry (5.50m)
Brendan Dillon (3.27m) - XXXXXXX
Jake McCabe (2.85m) - XXXXXXX

Darcy Kuemper (1.85m)
XXXXXXX

They have 1 RD, their LWs are good but not spectacular, Cs are good but not spectacular past Crosby, RWs are very good I will say that, but they need 2 more and the pickings are getting slim. Its among my top teams, but its not my clear favourite. I definitely prefer: New Jersey, Toronto, Ottawa, Detroit, Columbus, Winnipeg.

Also why do 2 teams have Nick Suzuki? Tryamkin and Joey's teams.

You also think Boston's better.

That top line is pretty filthy.

Hischier will have to really carry that 2nd line defensively. I guess if given easy offensive minutes it could work though.

Will reserve judgement on L3 til it is filled out. Decent so far though.

Top pair lacks a true go-to guy, but should be solid defensively at least.

Pairing 2 compliments each other well. IF Scandella is on his game, this is a good pair (but not 100% sold on Scandella).

Lindgren is a good base for a 3rd pair.

Not sold on Elvis as a starter after only 1 really strong stretch of play.

Overall, I don't consider it a top team tbh, but depending on matchups I could see it winning a round or 2.

That top line is dope. Defence is very very solid, no high end names but the depth is great. Your biggest hole would be goaltending. Don’t get me wrong, Elvis did great this year, he’s just very inexperienced which could be a tie breaker in close match-ups. All in all it’s a good team.

Preesh folks, I feel the same way, I should have taken my goalie target earlier.

Top line: Dirty
Second line: I too like two top lines that can run and gun! Actually though it's good, I say drop Galchenyuk a line, grab a depth add who can move up in the Blais mold, you're golden
Third line: Good base

D1: Not an ideal top pair, but only because I think Chychrun gets underrated
D2: Not a huge fan, a little iffy on it, but they're both capable in a top for role
D3: Sure, idk enough about Lindgren

G: I LOVE ELVIS BABYYYYYY (but you need a platoon option and left better goalies on the board)

I nearly listed your team.

The PandaRankings are now weighted by player values as sorted by PandaScores. Your top three forwards in PandaScores get a weight of 4, your next three 3, your next three 2, and your last three 1. Your top two defencemen get a weight of 4, your next two 3, and your last two 2.

Actually Panda what I'm most shocked here is how well Toronto grades out in the goal departments especially the even strength one, and yet how they're mid tier for power play. Further, I have to say I did not expect my team to be a good team at puck retrievals but I guess Svechnikov, Kubalik and Tkachuk are all pretty good at those aspects. Love it with the standard deviations, though it does make it harder to skim.

I realized last night why the talent seems a round weaker then last draft, that extra team means it's like we're in the 15th round not 14 which makes so much more sense

I meant I'm picking 26th lol
Oh yeah I’m ranking 32nd  still really like my team. It’d be hard to score against them and that was my goal. Hedman was going to be my first round pick and I was going to fill out my D first (with a few forward picks sprinkled in) but that didn’t work when he got picked a few picks before mine.

Question for @LatvianTwist what are your thoughts on still having a poll thread for our matchups but putting it on this forum?

Top and 1st pairing are REALLY good. Love Ekholm and Makar. I am a big fan and believer in Gavrikov.

Not sure I can buy Turris as a 2c anymore. Luckily he is flanked by 2 good wingers that should help with that. 3rd line is shaping up to be a very good defensive line. Unlike most Bs fans, I really liked Heinen. 30-40ish points and defensively responsible

I really like your first line, also think its competent both ways.
I for one do believe in Turris as a 2C, so I also really like your 2nd line! Obviously all the players need rebounds but I'm cool with assuming players rebound in the right circumstances.
Great start to the 3rd line but for me your RW will decide this line, you have to nail it.
First pair is really good.
I also like this second pair, not like WOW but tbh a 2nd pair doesn't need to make you go WOW, just has to make you not go eesh, especially with a great top pair.
Holtby is a bad goalie.

If there were playoffs, I'd likely have you in, but not at the top. I prefer this to your team last game though and that one won, but I had them missing last time. Its pretty well "solid", the kind of team that in the NHL likely wouldn't win a Presidents but that would also rarely miss the playoffs.

L1: I didn't know Kassian can play on the left, I overall like the line though, seems decent, Pasta helps.
L2: Meh, no complaints but no real pizzaz either. All are good but seems like a mix and match group.
L3: this works
D1: LOVE this one
D2: I also really like this
G: the 3rd best goalie in the league is always good to have;)

11-20 team, depth would make or break you. I like it a lot, especially as you work your way from Vasi forward, just think its not there *YET*

Pretty much agree with what you said, although I'd probably have myself in the 10-15 range. Great defense and goaltending will make my team very tough to play against, although my offence isn't amazing. Henrique and Silfverberg play together btw, so not completely mix and match. I'm not a huge fan of Duclair on that line though, he's good enough to be a #2 LW, I'm just not sold on his fit there.

I think Kassian would fit well though on the top line.

Will also consider last minute deals on Pierre-Luc Dubois. Need wingers. After I make my next pick there will be no turning back.
