Why is Stephens wasting their timeout?

He's desperate. He knows that his team isn't capable of coming back from a 1-goal deficit (heck, I'm not sure that they're capable of coming back from a tie). A decent team wouldn't have wasted the timeout because being down a goal this early is no big deal, but this isn't a decent team. Also, it might've seemed safer for his job to challenge than to risk Blake being upset that he didn't.

Being on a b2b shouldnt affect your shooting. Hawks have had some sustained zone pressure but do nothing with it. Just cycle it around until they cough it up.
