Call it the optimal optimistic thread if you want, but with the late bad slump we went through, it seems nothing about our team is good when you hear some speak.
Price is bad, MaxPac had a bad year, Plek and Markov are no shows in POs, White is a detriment to the team more than anything, Moen sucks, Armstrong sucks, DD is the reason for why my mom's friend broke her thumb when she tripped walking her dog, Gionta sucks, our defense sucks, we hide in a corner when we get hit, etc..
Now Karlsson is back and he's being talked about as if he's the best player that has ever laced up a pair of skate.

There's been no shortage of criticism throughout the year, especially at the end, and it keeps going on now.

Well, I say screw that. I'm sick of the constant negativity. I can put up with it throughout a season, but we're in the playoffs now.

Time for us to be fans. Let's be supportive.
We have a team that has played some really solid hockey throughout the season.
Unlike previous ''successful years'', we didn't finish high in standings solely thanks to our PP. No. We played our best 5 on 5 hockey in a while. Our PP is doing well.
We have one of the best two way centers in the NHL. We have one of the best young trio in the NHL (Eller-Galla-Gally) with possibly the calder winner. We pretty much have three 2nd lines.
We have a possible Norris candidate. We have arguably the best PP QB in the league. We have a shutdown defenseman specialist that have proven capable of stepping up in the POs. We have one of the better offensive grinders of this league. We have another reliable puck moving Dman that got back from injury. Price was very solid in his last PO appearance. We have NHL winners, we have veterans with plenty of PO experience. We have a coaching staff and management group with the experience of recent cup appearances and victories.

I believe my fellow HF brothers and sisters!! Let's all believe in our guys!!
Stop this negative BS!

Go Habs Go!!
Enjoy the Playoffs!

I'm feeling pretty confident these playoffs. I know there's been a more than a few questions about Price. Sure he's let in a few softies lately. But most of the blame goes to our defensive play.

We've beaten physical teams, we've beaten defensive teams we've beaten offensive teams. Most of our woes over the season can be attributed to the lack of proper covering of our opponents, imo. If we can tighten up this aspect of our defense. I have no reason to believe that we can't go far in the playoffs.

I always go into the playoffs with the mentality that we can go far. I know what we need to improve and overcome in order to achieve greatness these playoffs. But I must say, with all the new additions and all that we've seen so far this season from our team, I feel very confident.

Thank you.

Can we please give Price a chance before we bury him? How about the "smurfs"? Instead of obsessing about what we don't have, why don't we be support the team that got us to the top of the Northeast division.

To the top, from the bottom, when nobody expected us to even be near the spot we are now.

If Price goes superstar level, we reach at least the conference finals.

The young players are gonna be pump, Pacioretty too. Defense will be tight. Vets will play smart and be clutch.

Go Habs Go.

there's not much that I wont do, but supporting the bruins is most certainly one of them. I kid I kid.

I'm pretty optimistic, I don't think we have "it" this year but I would love to be proven wrong. no matter what happens, this year is better than the last and as long as we can keep improving, things are looking good.

The saddest thing is that we`re supposed to be the best, most knowledgeable fans in hockey yet some of us come off as entitled and hateful more often than not.

Down with the haters, GO :habs GO

Since our fan base is constantly growing, the number of idiots also grows. Well, that's my hypothesis. Maybe expectations from people are just too high nowadays. Also, maybe when Quebec will have its team, we'll lose some of these idiots? Let's hope so. Enjoy the playoffs people, this is gonna be gooood :yo: .

I have full confidence in this team. I think we are going to own the sens. I put habs in 6 mostly because I didn't want to jinx us by being too confident but I really think we'll see Pacioretty have a Leclair like performance and I genuinely believe in our chances to go all the way this season.

To me, from this point it's all gravy. We were probably 1 wrong negotiation session away from the entire season being cancelled. Then we thought we had a lottery team coming into the season. Instead, we're embarking into the best time of the year with a talented young team holding the 2nd seed and legit ''nobody believes in us'' potential. Let's go!

Great thread. I tried to stay as optimistic as possible throughout the nightmare at the end of the season. Looks like they pulled out of it just in time and are ready for the playoffs.
