Help? euros in the chl...do they have to sign

    Yes. The rule refers to the league in which players are playing, not their nationality or place of birth.

    thanks, that was what i thought. do you know if there is a change in that if they werent in the chl at the time of their drafting.

    If he wasn't in the CHL at the time he was drafted, then I don't think the rule applies. Was Tollefson in Europe for the 01/02 season? He should fall under Euro rules then and wouldn't necessarily have to be signed by this June 1st. That's my understanding.

    yea, he didnt get drafted till after the nhl draft, if i remember correctly. and the season before the draft he def was in europe
