I still don't know how this wasn't solved during the season. Someone on the training staff should be out of a job.

I see nothing more than hope that he is any better, I hope he is but nothing in that sounds any different than what has been said before.

I'll believe it when I see it. Again, excellent work Wings medical staff!

He's seen what, 4 doctors now? A couple of which were specialists? If 4 doctors can't find a solution, what do you guys expect from the trainers? Blaming the Wings training/medical staff is beyond silly.

This situation not so much, but I have a problem with how are health has been deteriorating, we are in a Minnesota type situation. We just seem to always have guys hurt, that is a part of hockey, but would like to see some answers or fresh blood ideas being heard about. Just bothers me, is becoming a growing concern even if a lot of injuries in hockey aren't avoidable I would like to see them attempting more stuff to avoid this.

Might be able to get two or three seasons out of him, unfortunately. Anyone know how this train wreck actually started?

A lot of teams have full time acupuncturists now, do the Wings?

I just think when your team has this many injuries, there are things you could look at. Strength training you should be keeping an eye out for.

Maybe they are trying all these things, would love for them to comment on it. Think about the areas they can improve in terms of this.

Preseason weight room accident. My guess would be he hurt it doing squats, deadlifts, or cleans.

The Wings have some of the very best in the business. The systems they have in place are on the leading edge of the industry. Injuries happen in hockey, and that's really all there is to it in this case.

All the sports' teams in Detroit do. One of the on-site doctors for the Tigers comes into my work on a regular basis. One of the nicest, if not nicest, person I know. Luckily, I may have gotten some free medical advice without having to wait three hours

I still have to get down to the DMC and shadow him on a graveyard emergency shift. The *&%^ I'd see he says, the &*#$ I'd see

They are, without a doubt, in the best hands around.

Acupuncture has limited capabilities for pain management. That's about it. Other claimed benefits are either purely placebo or unproven. And such pain management can be achieved through more traditional means.

I understand folks might be frustrated that Helm can't play, but to throw the medical staff under the bus is irrational.

Have a friend who went the acupuncture route for back pain. He ended up having surgery.

Reading clueless speculation about Helm's future has to be one of the most silly things I encounter on these message boards.

YOU GUYS HAVE NO CLUE WHAT HIS SITUATION IS!

I think when your team is slower, smaller (and up until this year older) than most other teams in the league injuries are going to be a pretty big factor. Also, the Wings don't do a good job of "keeping the flies off" so teams take extra liberties with them. Over the course of a season all of these factors contribute to injuries.

EDIT: This, of course, doesn't have anything to do with Helm's injury but more so the Wings' entire injury situation.
