Missclicked the 3 defencemen but I want Gretzky. I wouldn't want Hedman since that would make Dom also a fan of my team which I don't want.

If it was Girardi instead of Hedman, then this would be the defensemen easily. As it is, this is Gretzky easily.

Overrated and overpaid, 8m for 8 more years is a horrible contract, already 26 and still hasn't won a Cup, Olympic Gold or a Norris.

There's a reason he was left off the 2014 Olympic team.

This is easily the 3 defensemen - especially if they keep their knowledge and coaching.

Gretzky used to eat the league's best d-men for lunch on a regular basis in his prime. I think this may be forgotten by posters that are choosing the d-men, especially if they never saw Gretzky play. Take best player ever to play and be patient and build your D. That's what I'd do.

Prime Gretzky was winning rosses with his assists alone and finished 75+pts ahead of 20/21 year old Lemieux (2x). He isn't going to have less pts than McDavid or Crosby. Add a 1 in front of the 90 and that's closer to reality.

I'll take the 3D. It's all about the team and you'd be getting that in spades with prime Karlsson, prime Doughty and prime Hedman.

Gretzky, having Hedman on the team is a negative with his insane caphit and being a liability.

I'd say Doughty and Hedmans value cancel each other out. So it's pretty much Gretzky or Karlsson... most lopsided poll ever.
