I had mentioned before about making your own tzatziki sauce to dip veggies in as a snack. I was using non-fat greek yogurt, but I tried it with 2% this time (non-fat is skim) and it makes a world of difference in taste at a small cost in extra fat and calories. Taking the advice of @Illinihockey in not going overboard.

Next milestone 365

Interesting... I have never been up this high, makes sense. 3 to 4 probably takes a bit a time and you are getting to the advanced levels. Sadly, I won't be getting to the 1000 lb club anytime soon, but I'm fine with that. I was getting no progress on SS 3x5 anymore and 5/3/1 has been huge.

Realistically I am sitting at: 325 Dl 305 Bp, 260 Sq = 890lbs. That last hundo is going to take time, need my sq to 300 to have any shot at 1000 lb club, maybe 370 dl, 315 bp, 315 sq.

I need to really scoop up a Rogue Ohio Power Bar and two more bumpers. My Weider is going to snap.

This is my heavy week at Squat:

Realistically I am sitting at: 325 Deadlift, 305 Bench, 260 Squat = 890-900lbs. That last hundo is going to take some time, mostly from my deadlift, my bench is probably capped, and I just am getting slow slow growth from my squats. Need my squat to 300 to have any shot at 1000 lb club, maybe 370 dl, 315 bench, 315 squat.

You can probably squat more than you think. Deadlift engages a lot of the same muscles. If your deadlift has shot up and you haven't tried to max your squat recently you might be surprised. I had never really squatted more than 335 because of my hip and had just been doing deadlift. Without trying to work up I did 385 and probably could have done more.

Cool.... I'm actually just half scared to put that much weight on and fail (even though I have safety bars) lol

It serves the purpose of me wanting to do body recomp a little more quickly.

Interesting, how does adding bulk-fat help you in your goal?

One can add muscle at a pace that their body allows. You do not gain anything by getting fatter and then dieting. The old bulk and cut was just a name given to trainees unable to stay lean and make them (us) feel better, like it was a plan.

It isn't.

Guess I am surprised. Tried 1RM on my Squat today: 235 x 1, 255 x 1, 275 x 1

Just barely was got out of the hole on 275.

BP 295, DL 315, SQ 275 = 885

SQ on Sept 2017 was 0. Hopefully close the gap before year end. :thumbu:

Just squatted 135x5x5. Finally made it to a plate. Next goal is 185x5x5

Almost thought I was gonna have to bail on a couple of those sets.

Failed my OHP at 80lbs. Got 3 or 4 reps instead of the goal of 5. My OHP is so weak.

Vegas over the weekend hopefully made them harder than they shoulda been or progress might come a lot harder. Diet was shit all weekend.

OHP is like self torture. My muscles shriek when they find out it's Wednesday.

5x5 gets intense quickly.

Joined a climbing gym over the weekend. So much damn fun. Also comes with unlimited yoga (and some other shit I’ll neber do), and they have a small restaurant with beer and wine and a nice courtyard area.

What vitamins do you guys take? I’d like to find a good multivitamin to cover anything I’m not getting from my diet.

What vitamins or nutrients are you not getting via food right now that you want to intake?

I honestly don’t even know. I just got some potassium pills to supplement what I was eating and help balance out my sodium.

Looking at all of the stuff, it got me thinking I should be taking more. It seems like such an easy thing to do to amp things up even more but admittedly, I know little about them and haven’t really taken any as an adult. I just learned the potassium/sodium thing and want to know more stuff like that.

Been cutting it meat lately, and trying to stick with fish. I just find I eat so much better all around when I avoid beef, chicken, and pork.

I get a smoked salmon fillet every week and eat a nice sized piece at some point every day. It has a lot of sodium but whatever. Trying to stick to wild caught fish but it can be hard to find for a reasonable price. It’s worth the price difference though, especially salmon, it’s like a whole different species comparing the taste, texture, etc. IIRC, you live by a fish market so should be easy for you.

Yeah I do, with very reasonable prices as well. We got 3/4 pound of wild caught kind salmon last night for $15. It was incredible. Enough for dinner for 2 and lunch for me today.

I’ve reached a point I won’t bother with farm raised fish.

Hey, already down four pounds after only a week. Neato.

Spoiler alert, I'm actually fantastic at dieting and losing weight. Maintenance once I drop the pounds is the trouble. Have lost and gained and lost and gained a load of weight, so this is my third effort.

Easier said than done, but figure out your maintenance calories and eat/drink them. Doesn’t matter the quality of that food. For maintaining weight anyways, not necessarily feeling good.

Obviously you know this, though. I’ve been up and down a few times too. Not gonna happen this time. Commiting to it.

Yeah, I know. Hoping the fact that I now have a son will be the ultimate incentive to keep the weight off.

I've essentially gone from the 220s/230s down to the 150s on two separate occasions in the past five years (with an absolute low of 149, which was way, way too low), and am back up at my max weight again. Just have to not be stupid this time around (again).
