What exactly is the Hawks ideal wishlist this off-season?

Draft?
8th-
27th-
3rd Rd-
3rd Rd-
Re-signing RFA's? Cost?
Add UFA's
Trades?
Bury in Minors?
Promote a prospect?
Final Product?

I’ll do this when I have more time but Hughes is #1 on my wishlist at 8. Think it might be an unrealistic wish that he lasts that long but DeBrincat fell to us at 39 because some GMs overvalue things like size so who knows.

Q gone
Debrincat with Kane
Saad on his own line
Toews in a checking role
Sign: Top 4 dman, good veteran 4th line LW, Maybe a backup
8th - Kotkaniemi
27th - Merkley or some other Dman
3rd - Doesn't matter, I trust Stan's drafting. Maybe a high upside goaltender.
Re-sign: Hino, Hayden, Jurco
Trade: Duclair, possibly with the 27th if the return is good.

Saad-Schmaltz-Sikura
Debrincat-Anisimov-Kane
Hayden-Toews-Hinostroza
4 LW -Kampf-Jurco
Edjsell

Keith-Top 4
Forsling-Rutta
Murphy-Seabrook
Gus

Crawford
new backup G

most important thing for this team is to rid itself of Q

I like that top nine if AA stays but I think he will be moved and I do think Kahun will make the club though I am not sure where he will play. It could be between cat and kane as he is responsible on both ends of the ice and has some slick hands himself and he is a great skater something that AA is not.

I really like the potential of that SSS line

Q gone, Hughes in the Draft and signing Tavares while we can somehow find a way to unload Seabrook.

I say nothing of it will happen.

Why do I get the feeling the Hawks are gonna take a run at EK...

I think it's more plausible now that EK has all that drama in Ottawa, and it's pretty much guaranteed that he doesn't want to be there anymore. Him and his wife need a start over in a new city. I'm just really hesitant on him with his health history, and with the fact that he is only signed for one more year. Giving up some really good pieces in that trade could suck bad.

I'm still of the opinion the Hawks shouldn't go after either of Carlson or EK. Too much risk, IMO.

Get Panarin back somehow.
Faulk, TVR or Hammmer back.
JVR or Kessel.
Maybe a crawford for price trade if cap permits.

No to ek, past his prime, bit of a premadonna and seems to carry a lot of baggage. Someone will overpay him and it can’t be the hawks given seabrooks and toews albatross of contracts

Panarin is not available, not a chance (we would all love him here).

No to Hammer as he has continued to fall off a cliff.

TVR would not be used correctly.

Yes to Faulk at a smart price.

No to JVR, while he can score goals he is also not a great skater and has to be sheltered.

Kessel with money retained is interesting but his conditioning could be an issue in the future.

Love Price but I doubt the cap would work.

Stastny is 2nd best C on market (Behind Tavares)

He is going to get another big payday so 5.5M is not going to happen IMO

5.5M would be same cap hit as Andrew Ladd just for reference to show how 5.5M doesn't seem realistic

6-7M is what he will get unless he wants a longterm deal and takes lower cap hit but it would be very risky for team to give him 5-6 years at his age (Will turn 33 in December)

Good thing the Hawks have and extra 2mil to spend if that's the case.

I like that line up as well, especially separating the two best playmakers in Kane and Schmaltz on two separate lines and Toews played well with Schmaltz

Trade 27th to get rid of Hossa contract since cannot use cap relief from LTIR until after game 1 each season remain in which prevents use signing needed good NHL asset to help position nerds at 2C ...

Draft Kotkaniemi at #8 If still on the board as Toews in decline and we need pipeline centers for 1C in a year bit two after another Yorks me season or two and then he will need to drop to 3C then..
If Seabrook continues ho get even slower and more immobile invent medical reason to send him to LTIR .
..fond onset old age syndrome where the muscles no longer respond as in youth ..so clearly no longer able to function..so can no longer be capable of playing...Do not know if NHL would buy such a claim ..but this is a wish list ..

Trade the picks (plus) for Erik Karlsson.

That's my wishlist.
