Chicago would simply want him to replace Shaw's points of 30 or so .. that's the bar

Also, if he can keep up he can slot on the 2nd line with kane.. and move Anisimov and Panarin to the "3rd line"

I don't think he is planning on doing teams favors, he is looking for a team that will give him a chance as a #1 or #2 center after his stock dropped this year. He is doing this on a short deal so he can get paid one last time before he retires.

All those ? will be filled with kids or cheap vets so completion wont be hard for him to nail down one of those spots

Signing Staal (or someone similar) and Campbell to cheap one year deals is the best case scenario for the Hawks in FA. Doubtful that happens.
