Have Jets reached peak market price per seat?

Not sure if anyone has noticed, but the Jets have sold very few (of the remaining inventory) seats today. Considering the euphoria of the game 7 win, and a Saturday night opening game, I think they may have exceeded what even the most die-hard fans are willing to pay.

I checked ticketmaster at 10am this morning, and there were lots of "blue dots" available for the Saturday game. Even more for the Monday night game. Out of curiousity, I just checked again (6 hours later) and it seems like there are even more tickets posted than there were this morning.

The Bud Lounge is $682 per seat + ticketmaster fees. They seemingly have had 50+ tickets available all day. Everything in the lowerbowl is $420+. Upperbowl corners are $320. At some point, you simply price yourself too high. I'm a season seat holder. What I pay for my seats for round 3 is $285.20. Yet, the "unsold inventory" for the exact same seat is $630 for Joe Public.

Keep in mind, the wealthiest of Jets fans all already have season tickets. Heck, many own Suites. I'm friends with many of them. There just aren't that many without tickets; and no matter how rich you are, $1400 for a pair of tickets is steep. Especially considering there are two home games in 3 days.

Again, just an observation, but the fact that the game tomorrow is still far from a sell-out is indicating something! 25K "free" street party tickets sold-out, yet nobody is paying (the steep prices) to be inside the rink!

Round 3 Prices:
P1 - $682
P2 - $603
P3 - $497
P4 - $417
P5 - $376
P6 - $317
P7 - $229

The caveat to what you said is that there's maybe ~100 tickets available. This isn't like Ottawa where thousands of tickets went unsold.

There are about 200 seats for sale ... not counting the visiting team holds which get released tomorrow.

But you are 100% correct, the vast majority of seats are owned by season ticket holders, so the availability is low. However, the point I was trying to make is that barely any of those 200 seats sold today at all. You'd think with demand being sky high, and inventory extremely low, they'd get snatched up quick. However, they're just not moving at all.

Just leads me to believe they may have overshot on pricing for the 3rd round.

Keeps tickets out of scalpers hands as there is no cream on top for them to take....rather have the Jets make the money than scalpers so I'm fine with the team flirting with the max price the market will bear. The season ticket holder cost is still reasonable for the tickets.....

The third round is interesting. It's a bit past the halfway point, but not at the end. It's also no longer "new and shiny". Even though prices go even higher for round four, I doubt we'd see any unsold tickets.

I am not poor by any means, but that price is way too steep for me. I would love to experience a playoff game but I just can't fathom spending that kind of money to go to one hockey game. I had 2 tickets for round 1 game 7, which obviously never happened, and those cost $450 for both. Even that made me cringe a bit.

Expect a bunch to be released on each gameday at 2pm...
Tickets not used by the home team, visiting team, officials and league partners for each game will be made available for purchase each gameday at 2 PM

These prices aren’t sustainable. These prices are for a one-off playoff run. If the Jets become regular participants in 2nd round and beyond and charge these prices combined with increasing season ticket prices yearly they will be pricing the majority of their fans out of the building.

Which prices? The season ticket holder cost or the 2x face value?

It's not. 300 USD + my parents tell me (they are flying down on Tuesday).

There is a big difference. Many from Winnipeg are willing to fly down to Vegas to watch the game, few from Vegas will fly up to Winnipeg. In Winnipeg, it's the same (small group) always buying the expensive tickets. In Vegas, they get the tourists each round. I mean, even for the Minnesota series (only a 7 hour drive north) there seemed to be less than a dozen fans that made the trip.

Disagree. I have a pair of P4 seats. I've used one ticket for myself and the other for friends (who has paid me my cost). I've been to five of the six games so far and the cost has been manageable. It helped that I sold off one pair to game four vs Nashville though. Selling that one pair pretty much paid for my entire first round. My cost, after selling the one game, for five games is $416.30. The upcoming games will obviously add to that, however.

They seem to be correctly priced, if scalpers can't take advantage.

Well, I'm sure the Jets would rather have the seats sell (even if a scalper makes a few bucks) than have an unsold seat ....

There is no way they'll let 200+ seats sit empty tomorrow night, the optics would be terrible. Also, they can't all of a sudden lower the price (which would be unfair to those who paid full price). My guess is unsold tickets will quietly be given away to "friends and sponsors" ... I have a hunch that if they didn't move today, they won't move much tomorrow either.

By the way, I'm not begrudging True North. This is their time to make money. I just sense that they made a slight mistake in pricing this round. Especially in the lower bowl. What's strange is that during the regular season, the lower bowl tends to always be full, and it's the cheap seats that sometimes sit until last minute. Now, it's the opposite ... the upper bowl is down to singles while plenty of pairs or four seaters are available in all lower bowl sections - especially the Bud Lounge

Let's not forget that they had less than 48 hours to plan for this game. Like I said above, round three is unique. It's not the beginning and it's not the end.

This was posted in another thread. My goodness the "extra fees" from Ticketmaster and Seat Exchange are just insane. As if a $682 ticket isn't expensive enough, they tack on up to $120 in "additional fees" per seat. No wonder nothing is moving today.

It's the only thing I usually spend my money on anyway outside of the typical everyday stuff. Was going to get a new car this year but mine works just fine.
