I dont think so. Canadas dominance is unique.
Tell us more
In box lacrosse is much the same the states and canada really are the 2 power houses.
USA dominated basketball for quite awhile and they wouldn't have any competition in football.
What about USA domination in Basketball and Baseball?
Of course, there is a zillion "sports" that is only played in one or just a few countries.
Maybe if you would narrow it down to "Olympics sports" we get more close to a valid argument.
USA doesn't have any competition in basketball. Europe is trying really, really hard. It's cute, but it will never happen.
Actually, I'd wager the US dominates in basketball more than Canada has ever dominated in hockey. And most of their best stars never even play in international competition.
USSR in hockey?
Yes I would say USA have is dominant in a lot of sports actually.
Finland is pretty epic in its own version of baseball called pesäpallo. Which can again be translated into baseball.
Team USA doesnt always win. They seem to have problems sometimes with Brazil and Argentina for example.
Troll bait. Hope the mods lock this.
You mean Soviet, right?
Seriously? They hardly dominate anymore. They lost to the U.S. in the WJC last year (I believe twice?), Lost to Sweden this year, and in the Olympics lost to the U.S. and then barely beat them in the final.
USA Basketball is your answer. Football would be too but we are really the only ones that play it.
This is gonna get ugly/hilarious quick.
Hey, L4R, a free advice for you. For your next thread replace "hockey" with "general awesomeness"
There is plenty of countries that have some kind of leauge (and int. comp.) with US Football, however only (except Canada?) on an amateur level.
england in football bfr lock!
you know it's true
Canada >> Ukraine
The Soviets dominated the exact same sport in question for a longer period and with a far greater stranglehold. The Red Army was once thought unbeatable; no nation has ever held Canada in such esteem.
USSR in hockey... There u can talk about dominance
Canada right now is nowhere near (and will never be) the CCCP
Has anyone ever dominated lame trolling attempts like the OP?
Canadas best players played in the NHL.
