Has an assistant captain ever accepted the Cup?

A thought occurred in my head. It's a tradition that the captain acceptes the Cup from the Commissioner, but I was wondering, has an assistant captain, for any reason, be it injuries or game misconducts, accepted the Cup instead?

I know, it's not a big deal, but I think it'd be a fun little fact to know if it has ever happened.
