Quick question for the Hamilton fans. Coming to the arena tonight from the States for the top Prospects game. What's the parking situation like around the rink and price?

The Lime Ridge Mall Arena idea was just a plain bad idea because city would not make any money on the project plus the Arena was way to small to begin with & would not attract the big name acts for non hockey events so this was just a good business decision by the city of Hamilton .

Hamilton is bidding on the 2030 commonwealth games in which they are the front runners & would come with brand new world class arena on the government dime so patience Michael Andlauer once we get the 2030 games in a few months you will get a world class 18.000 seat arena for free much better than that 6.000 seat Low Class arena you had planed .
Good Luck Looking elsewhere because there are not places out there .

This is abjectly ridiculous. First off, a new arena immediately allows you to reassess the entire mall (the city's largest tax payer) and thus increase taxes. It also works as a trade hall and speaking venue which greatly encourages hotel investment in the arena, like Lime Ridge has been planning to develop. As far as too small, 6,000 is the perfect size for the OHL/Trade Hall/Conference Venue. Most cities have venues of this size, while Hamilton doesn't.

As far as a Commonwealth Games bid. How the heck are we going to afford a Commonwealth Games bid. Such a bid comes in close to a Billion. How the heck are you going to the the Conservatives and Liberals on board with such a bid. It's a complete waste of time and money.

Parking ranges from $25 to around $6. I recommend NOT using the lot directly across from First Ontario Centre. It's usually a rip off. I recommend the lots on John and Rebecca or on York and Park St.

REALLY 6000 seats is perfect yeah maybe for a city the size Burlington , Kitchener or Niagara region but not Hamilton it is just small for a major city & Lime Ridge mall was just a bad location upper Wentworth has some worst traffic in the city you add arena there it just makes it worse plus the city will never be able to attract big name acts to such a small arena not mention the Bulldogs & the owners of Lime Ridge mall wanted the city pony up 142 million for the project while they pony up very little & who gets all the profits not the city but Lime Ridge Mall & the Bulldogs get all the benefits & profits .

The fact is the city wants an arena that will attract big name acts & events as well as NHL. team while also keeping the Bulldogs happy & that means renovating or gutting the FOC. or building a new arena the same size as the current FOC. not 6.000 seat bush league arena that only attract bush league act events Toronto dose not want scraps I suppose .

So I see you missed the part about how Limeridge is our largest taxpayer and if you build there you can reassess them and make even more money off of them. Say nothing about how an urbanized Limeridge area adds even more revenue to city coffers and the commercial spinoff for all the businesses that surround Limeridge as well. Also how big name acts frequently go to places like St. Catherines, Kingston, Oshawa and other venues of similar size, but you just want to ignore that.

You just want an NHL team and I have news for you, the NHL is not coming to Hamilton. Why the heck would the NHL or any owner come to Hamilton, when they have perfectly good, modern facilities in Quebec City and Kansas City, don't have to deal with one of the most inept city councils on the planet, don't have to fight with both Buffalo and Toronto over territory rights, and can go to markets that greatly expand their TV revenue? The two or three big events FOC draws aren't worth the cost or repairing the dated and oversized facility. A smaller facility, that allows your primary tennant to be profitable and have more dates is far better then these flash in the pan events that are getting rarer and rarer because, as you well know, Toronto has larger, better facilities with better transportation access.

First of all places like Kansas City & other American cities stated that they have no interest in the NHL. with the exception of Houston & maybe Portland that is it in the USA. & also I can pretty much guarantee that there will be 2 more expansion teams
& at least 2 more relocations namely Coyotes, Panthers & Hurricanes coming by 2030-2035 s0 leaves Houston , Portland , Quebec City & Hamilton (southern Ontario) that have interest in the NHL. places like Kansas City want an NBA team not an NHL. team .

A renovated gut job of the FOC. or a new Arena happens the Hamilton (Southern Ontario regional team) will back in play for an NHL. team & if Hamilton lands the 2030 Commonwealth games any arena project will be on the government dime .

Renovated FOC.- $250 million
New Arena - $350-400 million

Hamilton ever getting an NHL team or I doubt any other place in Southern Ontario.

Just gonna say that Kitchener usually sells 6800-7000 tickets per game and has a 7100+ capacity. Last time I went to a Bulldogs game, the crowd was a lot less.

The Memorial Aud will be replaced with a newer and larger rink with more parking:

Good game by the Bulldogs yesterday. My main critique would be that they need to focus on clearing their zone and dumping pucks when protecting a lead. Seemed like the guys were more focused on padding the lead but continuously had to defend their end from icing the puck several time in the final minutes of the game.

Expecting to see Zach Gallant receive a suspension for his unprovoked two-handed chop to the back of Van Loon's knee well after the final whistle. Hoping Van Loon isn't injured from it but he hobbled off the ice. Gallant received a 5 minute major and a game misconduct, along with the Petes' coach automatically received a game misconduct. Not sure what was going through Gallant's mind but that was a unnecessary and boneheaded attack.

Agreed. He took another bad penalty earlier as well. Entertaining game for sure.

The boys finally looked tired at the end. It was good to see Mysak live. Kid looks pretty good. We need to remember that he isn't Jenik. He's still young and hopefully we can enjoy him for a few more years. Our young core is starting to look pretty good.

Looks like we have found another really good player from the Czech Republic. Mysak is really impressive for a draft eligible player.

His speed is incredible. Excellent for PK as well because when he gets the puck, he either turns the play into a short handed scoring opportunity or kills time by passing back into our own end. I’ve been impressed with Mysak since he arrived.

Yes, it is becoming apparent pretty quickly that he is a pretty special player. He's fearless when he drives to the net. Hopefully he spends the next few years here.

Since he came before signing an ELC does that mean that he has to play Jr til he's 20 (or go back home) unless he's in the NHL?

Jenik had already signed an ELC with Arizona before he came so he was different I think...
