Hopefully some make the trip! Bertuzzi unfortunately won't be in the lineup. He's been injured since his first game as a Bulldog. Strome, Nurse, and Kaliyev should be fun ones to watch. I'd also include Navrin Mutter - high energy player and agitator.
Thanks for the info! If you're watching the game on TV keep your eyes peeled for Rees, Perreault and Leufvenius

Bulldogs are in Barrie tonight. Kaliyev (rest) not expected to be in the lineup. Hopefully DJ King returns tonight.

Kaliyev significantly increased his stock at the Top Prospects game, with his 2G and 1A--good chance he's going early in the first round at the rate he's going, which is a great credit to Gruden/Matsos' coaching and his strong development with Hamilton.

Missy and Sarnia also are next on the sked this week--good chance to pick up some points in the standings, especially trying to avoid Ottawa and Niagara in the playoffs.

Bulldogs VERY shorthanded on D tonight--only 5 D-men available to play as Nardi has been sent back, likely due to card limits on Jr. A callups without risking exposing him to waivers, no Kaliyev (as expected), Roy starting.

Pretty uninspired effort by the guys so far tonight. I guess it can be expected being so shorthanded, but this is a big game for them.

Zach Roy is the only one that has come to play so far...

And as I'm typing the message they score.lol

Matt Strome with a beauty setup to Van Loon. All tied 1-1.

Fleischer got credit for the goal--with Strome and Jenik getting assists actually.

Reality is, there's nothing the Bulldogs can really do having only 5 D-men dressed and Kaliyev out due to rest because of the flight back from Alberta.

UPDATE:
It's been fixed--Van Loon got the goal. Darn OHL site..

I already know this because I'm watching the game and Fleischer wasn't even on the ice.

Hamilton up 2-1 with an early pp goal by Van Loon again in the 3rd period.

Isaac Nurse adds the game-winner and the Bulldogs get a needed win in Barrie. With the win, they are now tied in points with the Peterborough Petes (who lost to Saginaw, but still have a game in hand), and are now a comfortable 9 points up on the Colts.

Bulldogs have a chance to jump all the way up to 5th in the East with games vs. Missy and Sarnia this weekend at home.

Sleepy first period but glad they amped it up as time went on. Good to see Strome's hockey smarts coming into play. One thing I noticed, which I felt was a bit of a stark contrast is Jenik playing in Kaliyev's spot. He seems to have a different positioning, as where Kaliyev is great at taking a fast puck and putting it on net, Jenik seems to be great at just tiptoeing his way into the slot and shooting. Didn't quite pan out this game, but I would expect to see some more goals with that kind of movement in the future.

If I remember correctly, there was an article on the Spec around a year ago about a group that was interested in purchasing the group that runs FirstOntario Centre and the Concert Hall. What happened to that?

It's kind of in the air, in theory, Carmen's was looking to buy everything because they are basically trying to monopolize the convention business in the city. However, they are also trying to push the narrative of a Casino downtown hard, despite the fact the downtown wards overwhelmingly oppose it (myself included). They also, tried to lead a private study for the venues, which the city rejected as it seems to be a huge conflict of interest and could have opened them up to litigation if they went along with it.

The other company involved is Global Spectrum, (or whatever they are called now, some odd merger thing happened down south so that name is something different) was kind of fighting them on this front, as they are decent concert guys. I think they run the Flyers barn as well.

As it stands, Carmen's runs Hamilton Place and the Convention Centre, Global Spectrum First Ontario. Both recently tried to bid and step over each other, and now both of them have mysteriously said they are fine with the status quo now that the city is studying it on their dime. The facility isn't a bad facility, if you had money to dedicate a reno to the Bulldogs, I think it would be worthwhile. However, there is no way Andlauer is going to pay for that (and I don't blame him) and the city has been in a tax crunch for a good long time.

Awesome to see Burnell get a goal today.

Also, not positive that Bertuzzi is out for the season. Heard some gossip around the arena that he may be back before the end of the season...

BTW, Bulldogs win in OT 4-3. Landry 2 goals, Kaliyev and Strome with assists, plus Burnell and Nurse scoring.

Sting are next on the docket.

Real question is--when are the Bulldogs going to get some healthy D-Men? Can't sustain having only 5 D-men and a OJHL callup..

Bulldogs now are ahead of the Petes in the standings.

Donofrio getting the start tonight. With Mississauga losing this is a big chance for them.

1 shot, 1 goal on Donofrio. Hopefully it gets better...

Donofrio getting peppered with shots--and down 3-0 late in the first.

Bulldogs really need a healthy D-Line ASAP.. especially considering they lost YET another D-man to injury last night as Jake Gravelle is now hurt as well. How does this team manage to lose so many defensemen to injury?

4-0 Bulldogs after 1. Sting are absolutely dominating Hamilton on the shot clock--17-8. Not helping is the lack of D due to injuries to the Bulldogs D..
