Gursoy and Joly have been noticeably good. Games have been entertaining since they got here. Team wasn’t winning consistently all year. The sell off is a much needed breath of fresh air. This season ticket holder is quite happy. For as much individual talent as we had on this team it was frustrating not competing well in our own division.

I've been meaning to type it out but I'm waiting for the last two trades to get announced. As it stands in the 2020 draft we have at least one 1 st ( CHI ) three 2nd ( SHA ) ( SNB) ( MON ) no 3rd picks then three 4th ( GAT) ( BAT ) and there own .

* The fallout of the Safin trade last year . The trade revision will see Halifax receive its first-round pick in 2020 back. The Mooseheads will now trade its first-round pick at the 2021 QMJHL Entry Draft to the Sea Dogs. Saint John will also receive its fourth-round pick in 2021 back but will now send its fourth-round pick in 2020 to Halifax. Also the pick is top 8 Protected , meaning if the Moose finish in the bottom 8 next year , the pick becomes a 2022 1st .

Halifax should be able to be very good in 3 or 4 years from now. This is what they have acquired at this year's deadline from what I can gather up (See below). We should get a top 10-20 range pick in the next Euro draft too. As it stands today, I think it's 13th (Q picks first this year). But we are only 2 pts ahead of Quebec and they would have the 7th pick. Regardless, I think the Mooseheads are going to get a very good player with their Euro pick this year.

I don't believe we have our 2021 1st. That was traded to Saint John in the Safin trade. Was originally a 2020 1st but that was changed after the commissionaire reviewed Safin's injury. Then we flipped the 2020 1st for Trepanier. Zadina playing AHL at 19 and Somppi playing AHL/ECHL at 20 vs with the Mooseheads really screwed us over cause we then made that stupid Safin trade to get a Euro for our memorial cup run.

Not having our 2021 1st does hurt.

As a Wildcats fan, I hope it's not the case. They've emptied the cupboards to go all in this season; they're going to need to move guys like Pelletier and Spence for picks, or it'll be another 10 years before they're competitive again.

Olivier Desroches has been claimed off waivers from SNB .

Landon Miron ( who I thought looked great during his last call up ) has been promoted to the team for the rest of the season . Cole Foston will finish the season in Midget .

I agree with Miron too. I was really hoping he would earn his spot on the team. Very nice guy and works his absolute butt off. He will have to stay mature and keep up to the skating level of the QMJHL. I think his greater assets in his first year will be getting to the dangerous/dirty areas of the ice and use his body and size to get goals in. He’s a pure goal scorer. It’ll be a half of learning with some struggles but next season I could see a great contribution in his game.

It can only be rumoured and predicted but many people on the QMJHLEast Pro-boards site have private reliable sources they look off and lots of the time they’re right. I wouldn’t know from my knowledge but it seems like the best legit reason. Though I would think we’d only get Pelletier not both him and Spence. I think Pelletier alone makes the deal very fair.

Some interesting news to keep in eye on , After requesting and being granted a released By BAT , Anderson MacDonald couldn't co to terms with GAT today and in now a free agent once again ....

Would love to see the moose grab him for the rest of the season.
