Good for Hakstol he deserved this extention after the crap he had to endure the season before last when seemingly everyone wanted his "scalp"!

If you're looking at past Adams winners or all of last years nominees there might be one.
Just not a good one for coaches....

That's true. Not really to the same status as Montgomery and Ruff and then Cassidy, but arguably 4th best (including post season) for the year. Bottom line, he did a good job and deserves to stick around.

Remember after season 1 some people wanted him fired. Doubt anybody wants that now.

I like Hakstol but the fact that the Kraken were relatively injury free and added some more firepower(Bura,Bjork) and Martin Jones sure helped all round. The coaching recognition to me is all round award and should be shared by all

He's earned the right to stay for now. Watching him coach Philly was agonizing, but he does seem to have learned a few things and improved.
