That is a heck of a boost for Sweden.

At least now we have a chance for gold, with 2 decent lines. Supposedly Hörnqvist is excepted to join as well so we can have a gritty player standing in front of the goal (Arvidsson is decent when it comes to that too). It should probably be between Canada, Sweden and the US. Russia haven't been very good lately even if they started this tournament well and the Czechs can beat anyone on their day but haven't been to a final for a while.

Jacob de la Rose got his first point of the tournament when he scored in the second period, helping Sweden to a 4-3 overtime win over Slovakia.
Dennis Everberg, Gustav Nyquist, and Magnus Hellberg (overtime winner) were the other goal-scorers for the winning side, while Tomas Jurco, Marek Daloga, and Ladislav Nagy replied for Slovakia.

They have the goalie as the scorer of the overtime winner

The true overtime scorer was Zibanejad.

Goaltending is going to be our kryptonite.

Yep. They literally handed the win to Finland. Great battle by the Finns in the 2nd period and especially on the PK but the WTF moments of the Canadian goalies were what really cost the team the win.

As for the Habs in this tournament, not a lot to follow. Haven't seen any Sweden games so can't tell how DLR has been but I doubt he's had a big role in the team, especially now that their offense got even deeper. Pleks has been great (still consider him as a Hab).

Eisenschmid just scored an OT winner for Germany against Finland. As a Finn, it's obviously embarrassing, but good for him.

Goaltending is going to be our kryptonite.

Kuemper when on his game can be a game changer, Marc Edouard Vlasic & Brent Burns on defence could change the fortunes of Team Canada in short order, IMHO. Canadians can be proud of all these young patriots, foregoing their personal time to represent our Country. All my best to each player/coach, etc. whose volunteered unselfishly in defending our claims as a world power in Hockey.:thumbu::thumbu::thumbu:

Sweden is up 2-1 against Russia after 2nd. The loser will face Canada due to the other group strange results with Finland beating both Canada and the US but losing to Germany and Denmark and other weird results.
