This is a bit of a unique situation. The Atlantic is still as top heavy as least year with Tampa and Toronto looking as good as ever - and Boston still looking well despite injuries sustained (and will likely improve now with Bergeron back). But unlike last year 2 other teams in the division are also off to great starts, and with only 3 divisional spots open and 2 wildcards total, it's very plausible that towards season end Buffalo and Montreal find themselves competing for 1 last playoff spot and only 1 of them can squeeze in.
Of course - the wildcard race isn't looking all that interesting so far either with only NYI close, and Pitt already leapfrogging others (Pitt a few weeks ago would be a team to be weary of if they were in back - not sure any of the other teams below NYI are necessarily super scary), so they could both make it.
Or - neither team was actually expected to do this good - so they could also both fall off and neither team makes the playoffs.
If you had to guess, how do you see things shaping up?
