We either A) have a stupidly deep pool or B) A lot of players ranked too high if Fonstad is 15th on our list.

Fonstad, add Walford

It's a very deep pool with a lot of prospects that I would describe as ''above average'' but with a high variance. The top end needs to be added to so that any big time players come as a nice bonus as opposed to us depending on them.

Fonstad. Add Verbeek.

That's a nice list. Definitely more respectable than it has been in several years. Probably in many many years really... even though it is definitely missing some top end.

I'd have Hillis, Fonstad and Ikonen at 10-12, the order I dont mind as they're not far from each other, at least atm.

But yeah, Fonstad it is here.

The 15th best prospect on any team will likely never see the inside of an NHL arena without first buying a ticket. Trying to rank prospects that far down the pecking order is tantamount to trying to nail Jell-O to a wet wall.

A great statement.

How much do you know about the Habs prospect ?

What if a team had 15 top 60 picks in the last two years ?

How many players that have 72 points in their draft season don't make it ?

Do you know who was #14 in 2011 ?

What about DLR? What about Mete, oh he was voted 13th ?

Do you mean to tell me Jake Evans was voted 15th best prospect last year ?

Dang, those guys were all around 15 you mean to tell me ? NAAAH CRAZY ????

By all accounts, Fonstad was a steal. Those of you questioning the logic of doing a list - well, it's for fun. It's kind of cool to look back at lists like these in the future.

At this point in time, our prospect pool seems really deep to me. Looking forward to seeing how it evolves.

Pk Subban was 14th after his draft.

We've actually had a few guys, I'd even venture a say quite a few guys, make the NHL over the years who were ranked 10-20.

Emelin 15th the year after. Ryan White was 20th at some point. Maxime Lapierre 17th, Grabovsky 22, Halak 13, Sergei Kostitsyn 12.

These guys ended up playing hundreds of NHL games.

Jeeze, I can remember when McNiven was Price's replacement in another year or two. Today he'll probably won't even make the top 20. I guess shiny new toys are more interesting. BTW, I've been voting for him the last two spots.
