TSN: Habs Reluctant to trade Shaw

The habs are reluctant to trade Shaw probably because of how much salary they need to retain in order to bribe some team to take him.
This could be....he could also be setting himself to get more for him. Teams will pay more if you make them believe you really don't want to get rid of him as oppose to say a player demands a trade, you're working at a position of weakness then.

Since it`s not a contending team, they should all be available for the right price in a plan to move things forward.

I don`t see one definitive young player to build around right now.

This, alone, is a sign of Bergevin pure incompetency.
They're reluctant to letting him go, he didn't say they would never ever on his mothers life never trade him.........Lebrun also said that if someone came with a right offer that they'd probably do it.......incompetancy is drawing up conclusions based on only using half the facts

Hopefully these leaks about waiting to trade players or being reluctant to do so means that Bergevin is neutered. It is my only hope.

They seem to be coming from good sources. Lebrun was on tsn690 this week and he said in talking with other executives around the league, as the headline says, Bergevin is relctant to trade Shaw.

Julien already had him out of the top nine, and now with the emergence of Scherbak, he should be nowhere near the top 9. And, quite frankly, the fourth line was better with Froese centering Carr and Deslaurier than with him on it.

How the heck can you be relcutant to trade a 4th liner with a 4 million dollar cap hit, especially after you just let your best dman and best forward from last year walk because you said there wasn't enough cap space???

Bergevin once wanted two second round picks for Tinordi. Not getting the right offer, he eventually had to settle for Victor Bartley and John Scott.

Reluctant? Why would they? The only reason is because he screwed up with that trade and that contract and can't admit he did. 'Cause what wouldu be the other reasons? Shouldn't you be reluctant to let Pacioretty go our only top scorer? Shouldn't you be reluctant to let Galchenyuk go....our only great skilled player we have on the team?

Speculation on your part on why Bergevin wants to keep Shaw.......allegedly.

We'll know what was what on trade deadline afternoon

No we won't. 'Cause if nothing happens, we will be told to wait at the draft. And at the start of the season.....and during the season....and at the next trade deadline....and before the next draft....

Shaw is trash.
He should have been reluctant to not re-sign markov and radulov.

If this team re-signs Markov and Radulov and trades sergachev for a real center they are playoff bound.

This team doesn’t have Markov, Radulov, or Sergachev.

Come on jaffy, do not argue against Whitesnake, the man is a legend and he knows his stuff, let it go, there is nothing left for you to defend.

There's literally an excuse for every failure by Bergevin. Some predictable but others so creative I applaud.
