No one cares
He's a professional and has put himself in this situation. Probably has some cleaning up to do with his agents, assuming they are the ones who recommended that he not accept the Habs' generous offer in the midst of a pandemic and given the economic downspiral for all NHL teams.

I don't feel bad for him, he's already a millionaire, he's playing a kid's game for a living, he's young and healthy and will have more money than he can spend the rest of his life. I care more about the posters in here who for the most part, won't get a sniff at one iota of what he's making and will be making. I only wish him well but feeling sorry for someone who has everything and who will get a lucrative contract anyway, I can't go there.
Very good post Runner.

He did score an empty net goal in game 5 vs the Flyers in the playoffs. His last non empty net goal was scored at 2:40 of the 1st period against the Canes on February 29, 2020.

Actually, the beginning of Year 2 was on March 1st, 2021.

According to the following link, it took Gomez 1 year and 6 days to break his goal-less skid: He (finally) scores! Gomez breaks year-long goal drought as Habs beat Isles

He had scored on Feb. 5th, 2011 and then his drought began and he ended it on Feb. 10th 2012.

For Gomez:

Feb. 5, 2011 to Feb. 4 2012 = 1 year. Add Feb. 5 to 10 = 6 days. Grand total between goals for Gomez stands at one year and 6 days.

For Dan0:

Feb. 29, 2020 to Feb. 28, 2021 = 1 year.

Dan0 needs 6 days starting from Mar. 1st, to beat Gomez's streak.

If Dan0 were to not score, he would tie Gomez on March 6th.

Note: recalculated on March 4th, corrected computation errors.

To be fair to Danault, pretty sure there are a lot less games played in his year.

Regardless of whatever's in that article, I support Jack Todd being fired. He's the worst.

His article originally included a quote from Auston Matthews in 2017 as current to make a point. That’s incredibly sloppy and there was a time where that sort of inaccuracy/sloppiness got someone like that shitcanned.

Geoff is completely unpredictable. We do know he's slow as molasses when comes time to make significant decisions. You'll remember how it was the case with Skeletor.
Molson is workin round the clock on the new spicy hot dogs that will be sold at the Bell Center .............. when it opens, he has a ready made distribution plan. "Anyone who wants a hot dog can get a hot dog". Starting with seniors and front line workers.

The article is from February 10th, but the goal was scored on February 9th.

From ESPN, Gomez game log (end of sequence, 2011-2012):

There wasn't any game on the 10th.

It marked the 60th game since the last time Gomer had scored.

As February 5th is the right starting date, that makes it a year and 4 days, 369 days.

Great article, we need more of these in the Montreal press.
It feels like there is a clique of overpaid vets that is running the show. And it's one thing if they were contributing anything positive on the ice. But they are actually the worst players on the team.
