Was bored at work this morning and was thinking about how the habs will look in 3 years.

It came down to this for me.

Pacioretty-Galchenyuk-Gallagher
Bourque-Eller-Collberg
Hudon-Plekanec-McCarron
Prust-Dumont-White

Tinordi-Subban
Gorges-Nygren
Beaulieu-Emelin

Price
Budaj

PP1 Pacioretty-Galchenyuk-Collberg
Beaulieu-Subban

PP2 McCarron-Plekanec-Gallagher
Gorges-Nygren

PK1 Plekanec-Dumont
Tinordi-Subban

PK2 Eller-Prust
Gorges-Emelin

Discussion questions.
-Do you guys think De La Rose will be ready to go in 3 years?
-Will Fucale be Price's backup?
-Will Pleky still be here?
-Will Nygren be ready?
-Will this be a competitive line-up?

Go get your crystal balls and shoot me your line-ups!

Cheers.

You forgot Girardi! I bet he signs here as a UFA in the off season, to balance out the Gomez trade :sarcasm:

Since it's Crystal Ball Edition, it will be completly random for me. Marc Bergevin will spam the trades and FA signings!!!

Nash-Galchenyuk-Gallagher
Pacioretty-Brassard-Pominville
De La Rose-Eller-Collberg
Prust-McClement-McCarron

Hamius-Subban
Tinordi-Nygren
Gorges-Dietz

Price-Budaj

A part of me believe it's gonna look somewhat like this!

1- Yes, he's already strong and I'm sure he will get a lot of minutes this year in Sweden, which will amaze us and he will be impressive in the 2014-25 training camp. I'm glad he wasn't sent to Windsor because he is too strong for the CHL. NHL in at least a year, maybe 2.
2- I hope not, I'm sure in 3 years we will be able to find better he backups than him.
3- I want him to stay and I expect him to stay. But I wouldn't be surprised if gets traded.
4- What he did last season was great, he has NHL potential for sure. For me, it's a matter of time before he plays with us. I think he will play some game with us this year and maybe will be a regular next year. I'm excited to watch him play in NA.
5- In 3 years, my line-up will be great, all we will need is to play well on the ice. With a lot of young players (McCarron, Collberg, De La Rose, Dietz and Tinordi) I don't know what to expect.

Pacioretty - Galchenyuk - Gallagher
McCarron - Eller - Collberg
De La Rose - Plekanec - Hudon
Prust - Bournival - Crisp/White

Tinordi - Subban
Beaulieu - Nygren or Emelin
Georges - Emelin or Nygren

Questions:
- DLR will be ready.
- Depends on how he will have progressed.
- He'd be a great 3rd line centre (Only, of course, if Galchenyuk and Eller develop the way they were meant to be)
- Maybe, I added him there because you added him to your lineup and thought he'd be a nice add.
- I really like the forwards. Not exactly the same thing for the defensemen. I have a feeling that Beaulieu and Georges might get traded for some "key" pieces. I'd like another massive guy like Tinordi.

Nobody penciling in Leblanc?

DLR and Collberg are the most interesting to the wish list

Bournival and Leblanc are second fiddles.

Hudon, McCarron and Bozon will still be developing and getting close.

Pacioretty - Galchenyuk - Gallagher
UFA - Eller - Collberg
DLR - Plekanec - Bourque
Prust - Bournival/White - Bournival/Leblanc

Fun thread:

Pacioretty-Galchenyuk-Gallagher
X-Eller-Collberg
X-Dumont-McCarron
Prust-X-X

Tinordi-Subban
X-Nygren
Beaulieu-Emelin

X =

1. A trade for effective young NHL ready players in return for our many redundant prospects.

2. A prospect other than Tinordi, Beaulieu, and possibly McCarron and Collberg who is good enough to play for a contender. IE: None of our other prospects. Nygren I left in there for fun, very likely not happening.

BTW: I hope you guys realize that anyone we draft from 2014 on, unless top 3, or a freak like Subby, will not be a factor in this 5 year cup window. Building through draft for our next cup with this core is now over. Too bad, that is why last year sucked. Would have been much better to draft 10th or higher, as Bergy desperately tried to do, than finish '1st' and get rogered up the arse by the ****ing SENS in round 1. :shakehead

3.Or a UFA acquisition, which are worse every year. Do not go there unless it's a Hossa, which it will not be. And over 30 in today's NHL? Forget it. UFA sucks bag.

Looks like door number one. Better get trading next year Bergy.

I am not joking. Our prospect pool is not strong enough, UFA is ****, and we have a 5 year Price Subban Max, Chuckie window opening next year.

Bergy has only one option left to make this cup window: Start trading prospects for good young NHL talent that can help in a cup drive, NOW. Let us see if he realizes this. NO Habs GM in the last 20 years has inherited this great a core, and had as much to lose, as Bergy.

Personally, I do not see Plekanec here in three years. Galchenyuk and Eller are likely to supplant him in the top six, or so we hope and that forces either one of three out of position or into a depth role they are ill-suited for. Eller is much like Jordan Staal - he will outgrow playing on the third line. It would be best to get a much of strong return as we can with Plekanec. Of course that all depends on how things go.
