You right about Top pairing RHD being a luxury but Petry is not a top pairing RHD. He is a very fine #3 and because of his offence he will garner you a boat load should MB try to trade him. It just won’t be from Toronto.

Comparing a 25 year old KHL veteran who had success in his first 30 games in the NHL currently rehabbing from surgery to a 19 year old recent 1st round pick with no experience outside of the CHL. You cant compare the two what so ever. And you definitely cant conclusively say that Mikheyev is worth more than a 1st.

As someone who watches a lot of the Habs, strongly disagree. Like I said, he'd be a RD Gardiner for us. He's not a shutdown guy, and more of the same skillset we already have.
