habs draft picks

    dose anyone know if the habs have extra draft picks for 2005 due to trades and such ?

    -If they don't resign Kovalev, the Habs are will have a second round pick.

    -With the Quintal trade, they might be able to have another 9th round pick

    That's what I can remember...

    that's not 100% correct. The Habs dont get anything if they don't resign Kovalev. If Kovalev resigns with another team then they should get compensated, in what could be a 2nd round pick. Kovalev could decide to stay in Russia, who knows.

    I think that depends on the new CBA. I know that that was one of the things that was talked about being changed b/c of all the trading of players rights, right before free agency to small market teams, so that they could get some form of compensation.

    although a 2nd round choice would be nice to get

    I'd much rather have Kovalev in the line-up though
