Not the most handsome guy either, even as a child! He must have been a bully in school..

We don't need Kovalchuk? You do realize that he is our most skilled player? The only one besides Price who has game breaking talent?
And we don't need him?
Not sure how long you have been following the Habs but we haven't had a forward with his type of skill for over a decade (well, there was that one blip with Subban but he wasn't a forward ;) ). That being the other over the hill Russian.
The one thing we desperately need is more players with that type of talent level.
Hows that talent working out on Methuselan kovalchuk?

He can't play bottom 6 and his scoring now is the same as it was in LA who cut him lose.

Our most talented player ? Have you seen his defensive game? And playing bottom six, it ain't going to be pretty.

Alright. Sure, his last 7 games were lacklustre. So why not just can continue getting plugs into our lineup as we have been doing for the last couple of decades. How's that lack of talent been working out for us (nearly) three decades? (not that it matters now)

young plugs work great in the bottom 6, old creaky former scorers living on past accomplishments, not so much.

talent is contextual, that he has a great shot when left completely alone and has all the time in the world, doesnt mean didly.

at his peak, his offensive skills could mitigate the fact that as a 200 ft player he was am abomination. those offensive skills are waning and he's not getting any better defensivley.

he's essentially brian savage in october, comes out a house on fire then turns into a dumpster fire. long term he doesn't fit in to the habs, unless we get some sort of sponsorship deal with AARP. the only reason he got top 6 minutes is beause our guys were hurt. they come back, he moves down the lineup and he's back to LA levels or perhaps back to khl bound ( again).
